Nvidia 3090 artifacting

as long as I run GW1 in the background I can use the PC as normal even play games that were causing artifacts albeit at lower fps, this works on the newest drivers and the older ones, I have no idea whats going on, I can only assume that there is something that the drivers are doing to the graphic card but being that GW1 is so old the card is doing some form of throttling to accommodate the game.
Hmm. It still makes me suspicious about the monitor settings, but I'm not sure what it could be that Nouveau doesn't support or has alternative defaults.

There's the colour depth and temperature, DSC, HDR, overdrive... ?

I like KompuKare's theory about the clocks and power states too.

Hi All

So from the response of Zotac, they feel its a hardware issue and I have been pretty much told I am sh#t out of luck. Looks like I am sticking my old 1070ti in my PC until I can afford a replacement card.

Cheers

That seems like an odd conclusion for them to have, when it works fine with the Nouveau drivers?

Did you register your card with the extended warranty Zotac offer?

@Tetras It was a prebuilt system so I didnt notice that it had an extended warranty or I would have.
Before you dump it in the trash * (if that's what you're thinking), it might be worth firing off an email to the prebuild company. You never know.

* Don't do that, it is still worth something, even if broken, especially if it runs fine with the Nouveau drivers.
