Aquiss

I pay for a quarter of my broadband bill but manage all of it. So paying more for better customer service is worth it to me.

Exactly why I'm not hanging around for year 2, if it was slightly more expensive then fine but it's a lot more.
Looking at Zen next I think in November, surely they are better than the likes of Plusnet, Sky and BT.

Yeah pricing is not good Plusnet offer £33 and Aquiss for same package is £55 with some discounts it averages at £49 that is a big difference even EE is cheaper on 12 month which is £43.

Did look at Zen who I have heard have declined in customer service quality plus they are very expensive it shows £50 per month for 18 months and you got to pay setup fee £15

I'd rather pay a little bit extra for the customer service than the horrendous service i've had with VM - when VM works it's fine for me, but had quite a few issues. Was hoping CF would be enabled in my area but alas.
It's not a little bit extra though it's like 50% more.

It’s all relative, still less than what I’ve been paying. The reality has always been going with the cheapest product tends to get you the worst service. £22 a month difference isn’t going to upset me, I don’t have TV, Landline or pretty much any other outgoing services apart from a phone data plan to pay for.

I'm not sure if I'll keep it once the contract ends. I really like them as an ISP, but it's hard to ignore a massive saving.

Half the battle though is that the ISPs always give you a much better deal as a new customer, and changing provider every 12-18 months is a pain in the arse all of its own.

I'm just so sick of ISP routers, useless customer support, trying to make my own device work etc. Not to mention the hassle involved with switchover day.

With Aquiss all of that is a breeze - and no switchover if I stay. But as you say, potentially £20 extra per month that I don't need to spend.

It's an individual judgement call with no right or wrong answer. Personally I'd happily pay extra for a great, responsive ISP. I dropped on lucky as heck with YouFibre (2G symmetric, option for 8G plus, with a /29 routed over /31 and a /48 IPv6) and unfortunately Martin just can't match that for me as I'm not a in a CityFibre area. If I was deciding between Aquiss and $random_isp and there was £20/month in it, I'd likely still go to Aquiss unless there were overriding considerations with a rival ISP (local BNG with better connectivity etc). YMMV.

This is my thoughts exactly, zero interesting options outside of Virgin and Openreach in my area, we’re still in the 90s in my area.

The biggest thing for me is No In contract price rises and No annual CPI increases. Super happy so far with Aquiss on the Openreach line here paying £55 for 1gb line

I was paying nearly £80 before for VM for 500 line, basic TV and home phone. It's nice not having to deal with the yearly stress of renegotiating after all the in contract price rises. When we phoned Aquiss to enquire about switching from VM to them at the start of the year, they seemed very professional, not just trying to get you as a new customer, all very calm and informative.

Same as others if you have phoned VM in the last 3 months like I have for my Grandma its unreal how bad the support is now. I gladly play extra for UK support and not landfill router sent to me.

Getting super frequent packet drops on Aquiss at the moment, got a support case in, so a good test of the famed CS at least. Already responded asking MTU, which should be correctly set although took me a minute to find in the Unifi UI, but still dropping. Hoping something easy to fix as it's annoying. Might not be their end, as hadn't noticed in until I had a power cut last night and it caused major issues with my APs so might just need to factory reset my UCG.

WinMTR (or MTR if non-Windows) takes away a lot of the guess work.
