*** Big Fat Weight Loss Thread ***

So I'm just mentioning this here incase someone finds it useful.

One of the best things I have bought is some smart body weight scales. They sync up on your phone and shows your weight loss over a period of time. I think I paid about £30 for mine and think it is one of the best things I have bought.

Thank you been after this type of scale for a while and with 44% off bargain.

Been calorie counting since March and down just over two stone, maintained the past few months and just cannot seem to drop down below 19 stone, picked up running three weeks ago to try and help shift some more weight.

Knocking booze on the head for a month now. Hopefully some decent calorie counting and accountability and some decent gym sessions might see a little progress. Steady state is good, but I do need to be careful not to fall into old habits. Had too many party teas with the kids over the weekend for birthday celebrations which always end up with predictable results!

I've got a very similar set but I think they're broken as my weight never seems to go down on them.

I have these scales too. They work well and the apps decent

I’ve been back in bad habits causing weight to go up to a fairly depressing 112 having got it down to 100kg earlier in the year. Too much time away with work and late nights in the office. Along with a slight heath scare as I reach my early 40s it has me pondering whether I’m on the right track generally with a high stress job in the city, which frankly I don’t enjoy and seems at the centre of my inability to lose and then maintain a healthier weight. Equally given the the mega mortgage and 2x school fees I need to just get on with it on the weight front as changing career now would be utterly disruptive to life.

On a positive note I’ve been playing padel (because I’m a cliched city boy with kids in North London) and been back swimming which I’ve genuinely enjoyed compared to the peloton that I at best endure.

Good luck with that. I always say i'm doing the same. Including countless times in this thread, but i never actually manage to follow through with it!

Got a webinar this afternoon for 3 hours, so aiming to spend the bulk of it on the indoor turbo

Might have to try some of those scales - the ones I have now claim to do fat% etc, but when I tried it they said I was 9-11% BF.... I was not :D (probably more like 40)
Currently around 131KG on an empty stomach, but a few kilos down from a few weeks ago (weigh myself constantly but don't really keep track of it, was around 135-136 a month or so ago)

Not seeking medical advice, but had surgery last week after having them regularly for around 5 years. Was told after this one that there was no need to schedule a follow up and to just let them know if the issues come back...
That should in theory have been good news but I got really down for a few days. Feeling more on top of it now and hoping that once it's had a chance to heal more I'll be able to be a bit more active (as well as paying more attention to what I eat) :)

If i was buying now, i'd probably buy some of the Hume Health ones or similar from Withings. I have some, i think they're the Xiaomi Scale 2 which were around £30 but i wouldn't put any trust in the numbers beyond basic weight similar to yours, the app is also a bit ropey.

Thanks, although I'm not too bothered about the metrics other than weight (despite how I worded that) and wouldn't want to spend that much. Really only interested in hooking them up to Samsung health so it can log and track my weight.... I'm sure I could jut as easily type the weight in.
I just thought it was funny how wildly inaccurate the BF% was on mine :D

Im away 2 nights a week from Aug until Feb, works paying for everything including an allowance at the hotel. Its taking all my effort to eat better when im not paying plus i get 2 drinks thrown in each night so its very tempting to just have a couple of freebie beers.
