Images of items I have purchased (except trainers [no feet pics])

I'll never forget the day I realised how powerful those things can be. As a kid the only thing I ever played with was those Daisy rifles, which were break barrels. They'd shoot through a cardboard box if you were close enough and that was about it.

Then about 15 years ago I went home and saw a friend, who had one of these "air rifles" and I thought it was just like those old Daisies. I watched him load it with a scuba tank and shot an Indian Myna with it. The bird was sat on a phone pole and fell off after I shot it. It was only then that I realised that the pellet went straight through the bird.

They're an invasive species back home so I wasn't too bothered, but that thing packed a hell of a lot more punch than I was expecting!

To be legal power needs to be less than 12 foot-pounds (if you don't have it on a FAC). Tuning the output to be just below the max (say, 11.5 ft/lbs) is one of the things you have to check regularly using a chronograph. UK law is pretty unforgiving if your rifle happens to be over the limit and you don't have the licence for it. The UK power limit is arbitrary and other countries have no limits on the power of these things.

Yeah, I grew up in South Africa where we all own AK47s and breaking the law costs R50 :D

Any pointer to a chronograph? don't need any thing fancy just to check legal limit etc

MX Master 4 to replace my 3S. the 3S is my 2nd one which was replaced last year by Amazon due to a button fault. Now this replacement has a button fault too so they just offered a full refund on return, so added £40 on top to buy the new 4.

So far it's excellent, the quality upgrade doesn't translate in photos but it feels much nicer, no more weird rubber coating and the side grips are proper silicone like a kitchen spatula so very hard wearing it feels like.

The extra 10g weight can't really tell as it's so heavy anyway lol and Options+ asked to copy my custom settings over from the 3S which is rather neat. The actions ring thing is really cool actually, thought it might be a gimmick but it's fully customisable on a per=app basis so is actually useful.

Been hankering to replace my MX3 for a while now…resistance is futile! It looks great.

Have they changed the option to switch devices from the bottom of the device on this one? That was my only gripe with my MX3.

Fell asleep in my chair the other night and woke up and thought I'd missed the OH's birthday, so quickly bought her a phone and then realised I was a month out :D

She doesn't ask for much and this Samsung replaces an old Redmi.
She seems happy with it.

30 quids worth of aluminised bubble wrap for the inside of my garage door. Hopefully won't be as cold in there this Winter. It took 2 hours to put that lot on because the job is not as easy as I thought it would be.

Such a cool workshop, love seeing all your purchases although I have no idea what half of them do!

Is this mainly for work or pleasure?

That's a clean little workshop, as above. Is it a hobby or work for you?

I'm a CNC machinist myself and couldn't think of having it at home as it's a job for me not a hobby.

Just a hobby now but engineering is something I've had an interest in since I was about 16! I used to make and sell astro telescope parts years ago and I made a couple of steam engines, but now I just like making more tools :)
