Ingrained with the stench of 16 year olds fear sweat...yummy!
The school I went to had dog smell on all the gear they had pet dogs in the kennel. I used my own helmet for CBT but rest of the gear was of the school. For DAS I had everything of my own. Last thing I want is to smell like a wet dog after a 3 hour session. :D

Just did my CBT today, went in never having ridden a motorbike before and managed to pass on a geared bike, pretty chuffed.
Congrats, that's how most of us began this awesome journey :).
Not to mention that with modern quick shifters, you barely need to do anything anyway.

Changing gear is also just damn satisfying. No one should deprive themselves of that experience willingly.
Plus getting the opportunity to bleed the clutch at the side of the road up some god knows what pass in the middle of the Alps :D.
But I agree, the way the whole bike reacts as I do a wide open throttle shift up from 2nd to 3rd say, is so so satisfying! I still find myself laughing out loud when things like that occur.

Has anyone tried the new Metzeler Roadtec 02 by the way? And by try I mean ride it fricking hard on a powerful bike in't summer :). I've had a brilliant 5,600 miles on the Michelin Road 6 now, and they're definitely finished. They got a bit slippy under sustained hard riding on the edge though, and that's even with my improved approach to corners where i'm doing much less point and squirt than I used to. My friend on a K1300S on the same trips also found this. Friends on the Roadtec 02 however, rode at a similar pace on H2 SXs so I'm hopeful it'll be at least as capable.

Went on a group ride to The Graffiti Tunnel in Peterboring, then on to the Two Flags Cafe for a quick bite to eat, then back cross county to Barton Mills for a double espresso and a jaffa McFlurry, then home via Mundford/Watton/Shipdham/Dereham/Home. Good day out.

Edit is to use different picture host.

Do the 22nd. Book a hotel if you can, we tend to have a "drink or two" after. Always a good night out.
Ah poop sounds a good excuse to get a new hat or new ear moulds but I'm the opposite side of the planet on that date! Mid week sounds much preferable to weekend though!
