BRSK

Maybe see if it will let you recontract onto a new 18 month term through the account section of the website, nothing to lose if you are only weeks in
That's a good shout... I've just checked and I can upgrade my account from the 1000 package to 2000 package & pay the same amount (£35/month). Only caveat is I'm meant to be getting an amazon gift card as a signup bonus for taking my contract out, and I'm not sure that'll come through if I change my package now.

Thanks for the tip, just over a month into my new 1Gb contract @ £35PM and just upgraded online through the My Account section to 2Gb @ £35PM with a reset of the term as you say. Took literally a few minutes to regrade and a quick WAN interface cycle. Getting full 2Gb speeds download and upload, which is nice (dual 2.5Gb NIC Aoostar N150 box with proxmox/pfsense) :)

I'm on the Technicolor DGA0122 router and IIRC, it doesn't support the 2G package, but at £3 extra a month to double up seems unmissable. I can recontract and is twitchy fingers time. Don't need it, but want it haha

I'll look more over the weekend and may ring them Monday to see if they'd supply a new router or maybe I'd buy my own if anyone had a reasonable priced suggestion around the £100 ish mark as a guide.

I Upgraded yesterday to You2000 (Youfibre not BRSK but same parent company, Netomnia) to take advantage of the Black Friday deals.

I'm using a GLinet Flint 3 though, so is fully capable of the You2000 speeds overs ethernet and WiFi,

I've turned both the ONT and router off and reset but speeds still remain on You1000.

Confirmed I've got a 2.5Gbps over ethernet to my PC, so I'm not sure what going on. My account page on Youfibre says the service is active too....

Any ideas what I can do?

I'd connect your PC directly to the ONT to rule out the Flint 3 and if still getting 1Gbps contact Youfibre to check their end could be something is stuck on the old 1Gbps profile.
Just been on Reddit and I'm not the only one having this issue. Apparently according to someone who raised a ticket, the upgrade is done on the next billing cycle (Which in my case is the 20th October). We'll see f that's the case as I've just raised my own.

I've pretty much just done the exact same but with BRSK, on the phone was told contract will be active from time of call but I won't be able to get the 2Gbsp until an engineer drops off the new router. Figured that was just because the standard BRSK router only has 1Gb ports and thought I'd be fine because I'm using the Flint 2 with 2.5Gb ports but I remained on 1Gb speeds until the engineer came round with the new router. Engineer said the Flint 2 would work at 2Gb after the new BRSK router has been plugged in. Not tried the Flint 2 yet though as it's only been 2 days and just testing BRSKs kit currently

I'm a new customer. I only joined on the 20th August, so have one of the new Wifi 7 routers that they supply with 2.5Gb ports. Never used it, though. Went straight to the Flint 3. Support emailed me back and said it won't go live until the 20th October.

Signed up today with a referral code from a mate.. 150mbps for £24 pcm, no mid contract price hikes, 18 months contract rather than 24 months.
And a cheeky 50 squid amazon voucher.

That's pretty much unbeatable, surely?

Community Fibre is even cheaper & offer the same referral amount.
Can only use whoever is in your area.

My UDM keeps reporting WAN disconnects (I've tried manually setting the SLA, as I was getting disconnect errors & couldn't find specific info on the "auto" setting). My UDM will think it's disconnected if the ping latency averages >1500ms, and the ping packet loss is >20% over a period of 120s (pinging every 1s) to both 1.1.1.1 & 9.9.9.9.

Now IMO it seems quite a generous detection that, so I'm I don't think I'm in the situation where I'm just on the edge of normal behaviour. Is anyone else seeing similar? I don't generally see it as a problem with day to day useage, but I never had an issue with my old ISP.

Contacting BRSK they basically said they can't see a problem on their end & I should plug their router in instead to see if the problem persists.

The Black Friday sale has started. https://www.brsk.co.uk/
500 - £29
1000 - £30
2000 - £35

Thanks for this, I upgraded to the 2000 a year ago and was paying £55 a month, had 6 months of the contract left, so thought id try it, it went through successfully, ive had to start a new 18 month contract which im more than happy to do, but now saving £20 a month.

Depends who you speak to I guess. I was previously paying £22.50 for 900mbps. Contract ended at start of October. Thankfully the deals came just in time as I didn't like the sound of paying £35 for the same speeds, just I can live with 2gbps for that price.

Only downside now is that in 18 months time there's going to be a lot of people either halving their internet speeds or coughing up and additional £20 a month.

True but I'd have no way of saturating a connection that fast.. 70mbps is plenty for me really. I guess downloading games will be better at 150mbps but outside of that.. It will be like throwing sausages into a cave lol

I have Brsk coming to my area soon (hopefully any day now!) and I'll be ordering the 2000 service.

Is there any equipment I should consider or is their supplied stuff good enough? I'm with Virgin currently and have their router set into just modem mode and connected to an Asus router which has 1 2.5gbs port on it. I know I'll need to upgrade my old switch which is only 1gbs. All the Cat5e cables should be good enough as they are all running less than 20m. Wondering if I'm missing anything.
