Lostprophets singer Ian Watkins dies in prison attack
Watkins, 48, was serving a 29-year sentence imposed in 2013 after admitting 13 child sex offences.

Good
I'm not saying he doesn't deserve it because he does, but I'll never get how people conclude that a quick death is somehow more justice than spending decades rotting in a prison (preferably until their expire of old age).Proper justice! Hope it hurt.
I can sort of understand if his life was a living hell in an American Supermax, but here, no.I'm not saying he doesn't deserve it because he does, but I'll never get how people conclude that a quick death is somehow more justice than spending decades rotting in a prison (preferably until their expire of old age).
Wasn't that a Beatles song?Aaaaanyway...

Indeed, he would have been eligible for parole now I think if they deemed he wasn't still a risk.I thought this too but he was going to be given parole after 20 years. He had already served 13 so knowing our system he could have gotten early parole.
At least he served some time and came to a horrible end.

Watkins was sentenced to 29 years in prison with a further six years on licence, but he will be eligible for parole after serving two thirds of the prison term.
It's down to 40% of a sentence now, unless it was hard coded into his sentence (not sure if that's a thing).Wouldn't he need to serve 2/3 of his prison term before being eligible?
Makes sense, and to be fair, that quote I posted was from a 2013 BBC news article anyway, so wouldn't be surprised if it's changed since then. It's down to 40% of a sentence now, unless it was hard coded into his sentence (not sure if that's a thing).
IIRC it only applies to relatively minor crimes, not sexual assault especially against children. It's down to 40% of a sentence now, unless it was hard coded into his sentence (not sure if that's a thing).
