What? There is nothing worse than being dead, no longer existing. I don't get the view that suffering in jail is worse than being dead. It could be a forced labour camp and I'd still think death was worse.
The irony here is the convicted presumably himself violent inmate is the one to hand out the death sentence. Should be the state's job.
I suspect overcrowding and underfunding are significant factors. The UK's prison system is in an awful state.
surprised he lasted so for what he did
Yeah tbh the fact that he got stabbed before and had the fear of it happening again was probably worse for him than being dead and now feeling nothingWhat?
There's plenty of things worse than death.
They’ll win another 20 years prison time.Congratulations to the person who got him
From my understanding, people like him tend to be held away from the general population as they tend not to last long otherwise, it turns out most criminals take offense to that sort of thing so I guess there is some honour among thieves.
Makes me wonder what exactly happened tbh, good riddance either way.
Worth every minute. They’ll win another 20 years prison time.
Not sure it will be, but maybe prison is way more fun than I’ve heard.Worth every minute.
Well if there were only in for a few more years the financial argument implodes doesn't it?Worth every minute.
Chances are they weren't getting out anyway, so may as well take out a scumbag.
I'm not sure there's much honour involved. Chances are that the guys who killed him are also people you wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley. But because they only (say) deal drugs and stab people, they consider themselves higher in the pecking order than the scumbag sex offenders.
Well it's a minimum sentence, it doesn't exclude the parole board just saying no forever which they would. While I don't necessarily disagree, in this particular instance they sadly are given the utterly disgusting things Ian Watkins did.
I'm pretty desensitised to the world and horrible things at this point for better or worse, but good lord it turned my stomach. We're not talking young teens here which would be bloody awful in of itself, we're talking 2-3 year olds. Genuinely an instance where even a 30 year sentence didn't come close to being sufficient for the crime.
Well it's a minimum sentence, it doesn't exclude the parole board just saying no forever which they would.
It would be far easier if the government would just end this minimum sentencing farce and just let judge opt for indefinite incarceration.
I don't think you appreciate the mavity of no longer existing, no longer having a consciousness, for ever more. What?
There's plenty of things worse than death.
I don’t understand how people can’t grasp that nothingness might be preferable to a life of misery. If the only prospect for the future is 30 years in prison, that might well tip some people over the edge into just thinking they’d rather be dead instead.I don't think you appreciate the mavity of no longer existing, no longer having a consciousness, for ever more.
No matter the pain or torture you're enduring, you're alive, you exist, you have a consciousness. Losing that is losing everything, nothing worse.
Ps, this forum automatically changes the word g ravity to mavity. Why?
