ATM have a 34 MSI ultrawide but need larger, don't want to pay a grand for an oled as I'm.only.usimg it for SIM racing so far come up with Legion R45w-30 at around £550 and the msi mag401qr 299, to someone who is clueless with monitors is there a major difference apart obvious resolution and curve . Would I notice the difference in reality. Bearing in mind I'm an old fart and use glasses

seen that model, but thought it was over a grand, thought bit of overkill for me,but other question was could my 7090xt run that res

I would say you would notice the difference because the Lenovo has an additional 1,680 horizontal pixels, and is physically wider and curved, so it has the potential to be more immersive. The question is whether that's worth the extra money to you. I would say it probably would be.

The PHILIPS Evnia 49M2C8900LA can be had for £650-750 at the moment, well worth a gander, 5120 x 1440 @ 144 Hz OLED.

Edit: A guy in a build thread bought one and loves it, also posted some pics of the setup and it's a gorgeous bit of kit:

I'm on a 34" Phillips OLED and its been spot on despite being cheaper than the competition by a fair punt.

I think it's £700
thats pushing it tbh, not the cost its justifying is it worth it as not far off oled cost.

That's true, but the height on 5K2K far more appealing.

Had a 49" and the lack of height always annoyed me (but it was good for racing sims can't lie)
the 5k2k is appealing guess have to weigh it up the Lenovo is a good price around the 550 mark for 5120 x 1440, easier to drive but less detail i guess. my only issue is my system against 5120 x 2160. hmm thinking time.

cheers all for advice

This res is approx 11 million pixels. 4k is 8 million. You are going have to use upscale and frame gen a lot with reduced settings.
