Syria was in a state of civil war. There were lots of groups there fighting each other for control of part or all of Syria. As such they were NOT a threat to Israel. Israel bombed Syria for control of the skie (as the article made clear) so they could bomb a third country.
There are no fascist states around Israel. Jordan has a monarchy which has great power. Lebanon is a parliamentary democracy. Syria has limited Govt due to the civil war. Egypt is a semi-Presidential republic in which the army wields a lot of power. At present the make up of Israels ruling coalition is far right wing. So of the five, Israel is nearer fascist, at the moment, than the others.

Iran has been trying to destroy Israel forever and they have a large presence in those countries.

In which case it is good that Jordan is west facing and offers airspace and reconnaissance to the west.

Lebanon too now that hezbollah was twice decapitated and decimated by pagers.

The state I was mainly considering is the fascist theocracy of Iran and any others that succumb to its authority.

Anyway we agree to differ here as elsewhere.

So one country out of all the countries you claimed. Iran is a theocracy though.

Hard not to be when some grown up people worshipped this donut like the second coming!
I mean, I don't really care. It just fascinates me that some people have the energy to get so bothered. It's not like she's a President, Prime Minister or anything.
