Maldives….. which site?

I'll be interested to see replies to this myself.

But the Maldives is a hell of a long way to go for a single week. When we went, it was near enough 24 hours travelling each way with the transfers and sea planes.

We’ve been there twice - first through Virgin and the second through LuxTripper (changed name now though I think)

Had a third trip booked through Destination 2 but had to cancel due to pregnancy.

Worth mentioning the second and third were booked as accommodation only as we used air miles for the direct BA flights - this carries a few risks with transfer timings if you need the internal domestic or seaplane flights.

Wherever you end up, go all inclusive!

This. I was there in January. We went AE but the menus had prices on for those that weren’t. $10 USD for a cup of coffee on the breakfast menu. Subjected to a further 15% service and 10% VAT on top.

We booked through Luxury Escapes. Flew via Singapore. Got into Mali late then had another flight plus a boat trip to our atoll so spent the night there, bit of a dump but to be fair didn’t see much of it as were picked up first thing the next morning. If you do the same then as said above, it cuts a decent chunk out of your week.

I used Thomas Cook when we went albeit a long time ago, went direct from Manchester which was nice. Think around 13 hours for the flight which was decent.

If your ultimate resort requires a seaplane transfer, note that depending on the timing of your flights, you might have to spend a night in Mali, as the seaplanes only operate in daylight.

All Inc at Ifuru Island Maldives incl transfer is about 2700 so about 3.8k for a 5* all in Maldives holiday in Feb/Mar

I know this as we've just got back from a week at Joy Island and the Mrs wanted me to look again to see whats out there

Can recommend the Residence - two resorts on separate islands linked by a 1km bridge where the turtles swim under it all day!

Again, please don’t…

I'm not recommending it, simply stating as fact that there is no choice if you incoming scheduled arrival is such that you can't make a daytime seaplane, or indeed if you are delayed. Best to be aware in advance that a delay can result in a necessity to stay in Mali.

I did the Conrad hilton a couple of times in a period of a year, back in 2018. Really lovely place, 2 islands linked by a bridge, 3rd island for the employees, just the hotel and nothing else. I had hilton status and that meant we got breakfast and some midday snacks etc. Food and drink was expensive back then, and has gotten more expensive since.

My lasting memory was not wearing footware the entire time we were there.

I would try Destination 2 or Blue Bay Travel, or Travelbag, Feb is expensive time to go so money won't go as far, I find end of April and early May cheaper to go.
I see a holiday on voyage privi, but didn't like going through a french company so asked Blue Bay Travel to price match which they did. Got the holiday 5 night beach pool villa and 5 nights water villa with pool, flights that I wan't for 7k, other sites wanted 12-15k

Where to start... I'd personally book direct. I can recommend, Kurumba, Cove Fehendhoo, Kuri Himanshoo inn, Lhohi Inn Boutique, Bougan Villa retreat, Bliss Dingurah, Dhoani. A lot of these you can do by boat too
