**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

I install over the top. However I manually clean the drivers myself. Remove all the crap and just install the driver. Only takes 2 minutes.

Just use NVCleanInstall, you know it makes sense.

I have before. But then feel like might aswell do it right. You just edit a file to remove a couple of lines and also delete the bloat in the driver folder you extracted. Not exactly taxing :D

Don't really need clean install or DDU etc any more unless there is a specific problem. Nv installer has been great for a couple years now really.

We went through this already as i recall. We do it to remove all the crap installed that is not needed like such as telemetry.

What you are talking about was something completely different.

Just moved from AMD to Nvidia, are drivers less clunky than what I am coming from...I found that my Driver would just screw up and I'd have to reinstall.

Welcome to Nvidia. You will have no issues whatsoever with Nvidia drivers, they have been known to be super stable for many years now.

So upgrade with confidence, enjoy Nvidia's 'Nvidia exclusive' power saving features including random black screen, autocrash and many more.

Best of all is the heat detection feature whereby if the power required to power the card is too demanding, that's when Nvidia's 'emergency shutdown' feature will kick in. The cables to the card will melt and the system will shut down to protect itself.

You'll get '5070 performs like 4090' fake frames too, what's not to like?

Happy gaming!

;)

I should probably give a proper answer. AMD's modern drivers with their modern cards are better than Nvidia this year, but Nvidia's drivers have got better towards the end of the year.

If you're coming from something like a 5700xt, you may well have had some driver issues.

In short, you'll probably be alright and be happy enough with the upgrade.
