Disney back to being **** again I take it? Just picked the first two up on 4k also and rewatched them!!

Who cares what the reviews say, nobody went to see it.

It had a worse box office weekend than Morbius.

Why do they keep hiring Leto again? He's too polarising.

Whilst seen as visually pretty and had some great soundtracks; All 3 movies have never made big box office numbers, they are too niche.

Don't think time will soften peoples opinion of this one, even the original has kind of aged like milk after watching it again, it was just novel at the time.

Outside of daft punk, tell me how many times you've rewatched legacy. All the storylines are just pretty generic.

Disney are retiring TRON altogether now. They waited too long and should have had the sequel the Legacy director had ready to go with the returning actors. That and letting Leto have any kind of say and anythgin to do with any project is mind blowingly inept.

I watched the trailer... And i have to say I wasn't wowed.
This is exactly my sort of thing. And usually trailers are amazing. But this didn't grab me.
Was it the worse. Sound track? Was it the wooden acting in the trailer (leto)?
Was it just not exciting?

Deciding whether to go or not.. But being underwhelmed by a trailer is not a good base.

Seems a bit of a difference between critics reviews and people going to watch it. I was really looking forward to it and loved the previous ones so will probably give this one a chance. I usually trust Kermode, but I'm hoping I find him wrong about this one.

I never look at critics reviews.

Critics love fancy stuff. They love Oscar winning films and I rarely do.

Ordinary people who go to watch this? They are probably going for the same reason I do. They want to like it. They like this genre etc.

Critics? No. Many critics seem to give a foreign film a higher rating just because it's foreign! They are probably well educated, posh and look for some deep meaning or art or whatever. Basically they are so different to me their opinion is irrelevant.

I finally got around to seeing this and enjoyed it, pretty much what I expected it would be.

While the soundtrack wasn't quite on par with Daft Punk's from the previous movie, it was still a great listen and worked well with the visuals. The story wasn't great, but then I didn't really think it was going to be, there were some fun scenes.
I actually really liked when Leto went into the old/original version of the program, more of a cool factor than anything else, very silly but fun.

Leto being Leto as per usual, I'm not sure why he keeps getting put into major roles in big budget productions as he really doesn't offer much and is blatantly a turn off for audiences.

Yeah this is spot on. Nobody goes to a film wanting to be disappointed. This film isn’t for me, but fair play to anyone that wants to give it a whirl.

Well its seems not that many people wanted to see it at all looking at the numbers.

Bad marketing too.
First I knew about it was 2 days ago on a YouTube ad.

Hadn't a clue it even existed until then.

Copied off Reddit -

Disney execs: "TRON: Legacy has become this big underground hit in the years since it was made. Let's make another one, but without any of the same cast or characters and without picking up any of the storylines that fans wanted to see followed."

I'd add a laughing smiley but I'm not sure it's actually false.
