Imgur has blocked the UK

Do you all think that in the near future there will be something stable to use again?

Coz I had to get a new phone (galaxyS4) 3 weeks ago and I only learned yesterday how to turn it on and off! Lol!

So I need to be able to use something that's really easy for a simpleton like me.
Imgbox has been around for a while and its interface is quite simple to use I'd say.

Even before the Imgur block, some people on the forum were using imgbox just fine.

Have you all forgotten how to read? :p
I've got it now. They are saying that because they struggle to even turn on and off their phone, that they will definitely struggle to change image hosting providers if they are too complicated.

When they mentioned wanting something stable, and that they struggle to turn the phone off and on again, it seemed like they were referring to phones when wanting something stable

This is still very annoying. Imgur is too embedded on the internet to be blocked universally. I've been resisting the need for it but...

Is there a VPN provider who has Firefox and Chrome extensions where I can put URLs that I want to split tunnel in? I don't want all my traffic having to go over a VPN but just split tunnel a handful of websites. I don't mind paying.

It's more like a router thing i.e. Policy Based Routing

e.g. Can be done on:
Unifi - https://help.ui.com/hc/en-us/articles/12566175125783-UniFi-Gateway-Policy-Based-Routing
Draytek - https://www.draytek.com/support/knowledge-base/4916

I think a few of the software providers have this, albeit using their apps on Windows, not sure about browser extensions.

ProtonVPN guide

Edit: It's their premium plan.

The easiest option is to use say Firefox as your main browser and enable split tunnel for e.g,. Chrome and use that if you need to do blocked stuff.

Not ideal but simple.

Decided to test using an embedded image from OneDrive.
It's quite annoying the imgur isn't available in the UK.
Bit off topic but what DE / Distro is that? Looks nice! :D

Using split tunneling with browsers like that might leak data though.

I mean if you're doing anything really naughty you'd use Tails or Tor ;)

I have Private Internet Access and that seems to have a kill-switch on the split tunnel if it gets disconneted, and you can force DNS through the VPN only to avoid DNS leaks. What else can it leak?

It's @kindai who did it all, perhaps he can help.

Is a middle aged adult still wanting to access Imgur so albums in /r/diy still work considered naughty? Also a lot of posts on reddit are marked as nsfw even if they are not pornographic. This is what annoys. I do spend a lot less time on the internet so maybe it is for the best.
