Is this any good? Specs seem fine... Only really be used for general browsing, some basic programming and maybe some minor gaming..

Can't stomach the idea of another gaming laptop, really more focused on something portable and quiet

ASUS Vivobook S 14 OLED M3407HA Laptop | 14.0" WUXGA OLED Screen | CoPilot+ PC | AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 8-Core Processor | 32GB RAM | 1TB PCIe SSD | Windows 11

Can currently find this for £699 but honestly have no idea if this is a good deal or not.

Thoughts or alternative recommendations? Budget is 700 max

Are you planning to use it in a brightly lit room? If so it might not be the best choice. The ASUS OLED panels have a similar sort of coating that LG OLED televisions have and it's very reflective. It might not be comfortable to use if you are sitting with your back to a window or in a really bright environment.

Also make sure you're comfortable with 60hz as if you have a gaming PC with a high refresh display you might find 60hz jarring.

I haven't any experience with it but maybe this one is worth a look?

Thanks for the suggestion. Honestly I'm really struggling. I keep looking at Lunarlake ultra 7 laptops, on account they appear to be better chips than the Ryzen variants and have a decent igpu. My head says, don't cheap out, get something that will last and will still feel speedy in a few years.

But then I think to myself, do I really need anything that powerful? I'll just be using this for web browsing and YouTube, maybe some light productivity. So surely I can find something around the 500 mark that isn't garbage?

Really I guess my priorities are, small ISH (14"), quiet, decent screen with a nice refresh rate (above 60hz) that will happily browse the web and do YouTube for a good few years. Any suggestions around the 500 mark?

Have you considered a tablet? The older versions of the 14" Samsung tab ultra can be had for that budget and you get an amazing oled screen, pretty decent speakers and the option to use a keyboard and pen.

They are android rather than windows but for consuming media I would say android is actually better.

Thanks. A tablet won't really work for me I'm afraid. Can never get on with the keyboard covers
