Arc Raiders

With all the configurations of PC's and their settings, I'm surprised there aren't more crashes tbh :D
Yeah, I'd hate to be a dev, it must be a nightmare trying to account for every combination of GPU/CPU/Motherboard/Memory and thats before you factor in peoples overclocking and what other software they have installed/running.

It's not fun, and I'm the one that only brings the issues to the rest of the Dev team rather than fixing things for our games. :D

Reproduction of an issue is paramount so that it can narrow down the cause and then take it from there as it can be something outside of your control that's the culprit. (Drivers for example being one)

You can understand why consoles are so popular from both sides when it's building for a single Xbox or single PS5 most of the time (although I appreciate Xbox has the series S and X - and the PS5 has the regular and Pro).

Game unlocked on steam for me finally.

Kinda went how I expected. First round I couldn't even get to a basic loot spot before I was shot in the back and killed. 2nd round I tried the 1 shot reload rifle, got the drop on someone looting a boot of a car hit him square in the head and he just whips out an assault rifle and kills me before I can reload. 3rd round was a lot like the first, I spawn in an area with loot, I start to loot it, someone runs in behind me and lasers me down while looting. 4th round I manage to clear a loot spot but the nearest extraction point not on 20m cool down is the other side of the map, try to circle around but get shot be someone I can't even see.

I mean only the last round lasted more than 90 seconds before I ran into a player and was killed, I've not fought a single robot or even seen one. It's just just PvP with the exception that good players can spawn in with loadouts vastly better than yours. If you're a pvp tryhard then there's a good chance you'll love this game, if you're casual or just average at shooters you're going to be farming loot for other people to kill you and take. There's absolutely no fun in that for me.

Yeah I was just saying to someone else, I'm probably to old for this type of game. It's also the type of game that would make me smash up my monitor.

On the flipside of that, I've not met another player in my last 5 matches, then again I dont tend to go to the designated medium/high loot spots.

I take the softly softly approach early on while I'm gearing up, everything that you can find in the high loot zones can be found outside of the high loot zones too, like most things in life, you dont start by trying to race against Max Verstappen and Lando Norris, you start by trying to race against Lance Stroll and Franco Colapinto :D

Edit : Also, make good use of free loadouts to build up a nice stock of goodies, then it doesnt matter so much if you lose some gear :)

I always play the periphery of the map whilst trying to get gear and level up a bit then haul ass out asap but I have only played Solo. Duo or Trio’s might make the adventure a bit more less non-combative.

12600k
32gb Ram
3080

All settings on max and achieving 100-120fps @ 1440p

looks great visually but the sound is something else! really emersive!

I'm 3 raids in now....
1st - I just grabbed some stuff and left lol
2nd - killed a few of them small drone things, geared up and left
3rd - Entered a high loot area grabbed some more stuff, killed some more drones and had a skirmish with someone but he ran away lol, went to extraction point and killed someone waiting for doors to open looted him and left.

Going back in once i've trtied to get my head round all the loot trading etc

Looks like a buy from me on 30th :)

Thats the best thing to do in the early matches, go in with the free loadouts so that you dont lose anything and skirt the edges of the map while you level up and build up gear and supplies

Also never forget, if you are near an extraction you can still extract when downed (as long as they dont finish you) because you can still use the lift while downed.

I did that in the Tech Test and got downed by someone camping the lift and I crawled in, unfortunately for the camper he got taken out by an Arc machine too and he sheepishly had to crawl into the lift too.

Done my first noob raid , killed two players i think?
Well they were humans and im guessing the AI enemies are the drones and stuff.
Looted gear and left asap, very good atmosphere.
Looks and sounds great.

What is the questing system like? Im hoping lots of quests to keep you busy.
Now im wondering what i should sell, keep, craft etc.

Looks stunning, plays smooth & the sound is impressive, but I'm just not digging the gameplay at moment. Maybe it's because I'm tired, will give it another go tomorrow.

As for loot, should I be picking up everything or just specific items?

Pick up items you need for any quest you're currently on and then useful items for crafting, picking up everything isnt really feasible, also dont forget that many things can be recycled down into lesser components as you go so that you can carry more, such as recycling stuff into fabric, metal parts, plastics etc and if you happen across something good, dont hang around, extract asap

Edit : If you need money, go on a trinket run where you just collect trinkets, some things, like pictures, necklaces, even ice cream scoopers, sell for a lot of money
