CPU upgrade

New. Search for one on HUKD, there's a 7800X3D for £210 quid.
I was so close to making the jump and buying this!
When i looked on HUKD and then followed to aliexpress, i read up the reviews and was close to ordering, I went back a few hours later and seen they put the price up to £400!
Oh well, I will keep a watch out and I think i'm swayed to the amd chip, hopefully black fridays brings some good deals.
Thanks all

If you can find a genuine 7800X3D for sub £350 it’s a great deal. Sub £300 is a steal.

Hi all
So I decided to have a quick glance at AliExpress and found a seller selling a 7800x3d for £276 delivered, plus there as a voucher for £10 off so paid £266 delivered.
We’ll see what happened soon! :)

Nice price thouh can you claim warranty on that CPU when needed due to it being an tray/OEM import?

UK seller on this one, came from stoke on Trent, if warranty become an issue I’m sure it wouldn’t be too much fuss.

if you bought that cpu from ebay, it would've almost certainly have been bought from aliexpress originally, with the ebay seller netting themself a nice profit in the meantime

there won't be any ebay/seller warranty except whatever ebay buyer satisfaction guarantee they give you
amd themselves won't offer warranty on tray cpus
at least if you bought with aliexpress they will give 90 days and would've been cheaper to boot (minus the middleman profit)

and why do i think this is the most likely explanation? it's the same packaging my aliexpress 5700x came with

Thankfully mine also came from AliExpress, so if there is 90 days then it will be up and running within that period :)

have you confirmed with the ebay seller you bought from that he will offer you a refund or exchange within that 90 days?
as it is technically an ebay sale, once you confirmed it has run fine all his obligations from the ebay side of things are complete
if the cpu goes kaput within the 90 days, he doesn't have to rma with aliexpress if he doesn't want to

If it's going to die it'll probably die within 90 days

Unless it's an Intel :D :D

it may well be
but my point is that the "contract" is between the ebay seller and OP - not aliexpress and OP
once OP confirms it is working but subsequently dies, the seller is under no obligation to help OP return the CPU via aliexpress
OP basically paid an extra £50 for worse terms than if he would've just got it from aliexpress himself
