Just played through AW2 with the wife on the PS+ version. Excellent visuals for a console on ps5 pro quality mode, excellent story too.

Got a few crashes to os though.

Ive got Control on PC so debating whether to play that on PC or PS5 Pro with the 65" OLED and surround sound haha

Man, Remedy are ****** bosses. I wish some other devs showed such dedication. They updated Control for the umpteenth time and made it even better, and all that after improving AW2 on the Pro A LOT by tinkering with the modes, adding a 40fps RT mode and a PSSR toggle.

I've just bought a Pro and it's great that you can now run graphics mode with the option to unlock the framerate and the console will try to lock to 60fps. There are drops in heavier places but it's very playable with VRR. Not only that but there's also a PSSR toggle, which is great because it not only results in crappy artifacts but also incurs a framerate penalty on top of that. I'd stick with TAA for this.

And the most amazing bit? You can use Graphics/RT mode with unlocked framerate on a BASE PS5 and the game will try to lock to 40fps. This patch is a huge win.
Just started playing Control at the weekend after seeing Digital Foundry's video on the latest update. Loving the game, around 8 hours in.

Me too. It’s been on my list for a while, so now seemed as good a time as any to jump in. A bit earlier in than you, but taking my time with all the world building, and really enjoying it so far. Thought Tom’s video for DF was excellent btw.

Have Alan Wake 2 lined up for after (from PS+) :D. Was a big fan of Max Payne back in the day, so it’s great to see Remedy still going strong and consistently delivering.

I played through Control earlier in the year. I’ve started it a few times but pushed on with the Pro and eventually had a ball. Great game good to see it still getting some love.

App was showing Alan Wake 2 as free for PS+, I clicked add to library and then got a notification from PayPal of a £50 charge, PSN is saying I can't refund cause I've played it (I assume cause of the trial in past) so how F'ed am I in getting an actual refund?

Raise it with PayPal/card provider. And don't use PayPal, they're scumbags.

Same for me. Started it I think for the third time late last year and pushed through - ended up having a great time! Completed the expansion too which was also great.

This. If the claim is successful there is a strong chance you get locked out of your account permanently.
I've heard there is way to get it unbanned, but it involves making another PSN account; getting in contact with CS to talk about your banned account and then they ask you to buy PSN credit to cover the chargeback and then you literally read out the codes to them. Which they then manually add to your banned account to get it out of deficit.

I've read plenty stories where CS aren't helpful in account restoration. Personally, I would take the hit rather than risk losing everything ( all previous digital purchases etc ).

Noooooo. Do not do that. Any chargebacks will get your PSN account banned.
Yeah, never a good route. I'm not sure why @will13 didn't just raise it with PS Support right away and get them to issue the refund themselves. They're usually really good at that sort of thing.

Also one of the reasons why I don't keep a card / payment method on my PS account and do all my purchases / PS Plus renewals via gift cards that I redeem on my account.

Exactly.

You can see what he did though, as the "add to library" button is right above the "add to cart" button, in the app.

Yeah but add to cart doesn't auto checkout like this 1 did, it just didn't even go too the purchase screen it was just same as a PS+ monthly game redemption

I got it sorted with them this morning on live chat, I tried last night but didn't notice the big letters on button saying they shut at 6 iirc, I got a refund and the case auto closed on PayPal and PayPal is saying they went in my favour so I'm hoping its just an automated response, if it ain't then I've messed up even more

Hopefully Paypal doesn't take any further action. Glad you got it resolved through CS / live chat. But for future, never request a chargeback as your first port of call. The T & C for many of these services ( Steam, PSN, MSN. Apple etc ) give them the right to permanently block your account with almost zero chance of restitution.

They shouldn't do with case closed should they? I'll keep eye on my account status on PSN for next week or so
