I thoroughly enjoyed the first game, though did find it a little short. No way I'm paying over £40 for this one. As always, never pre-order and wait for reviews.

This is a day 1 buy for me. Unless the reviews absolutely slate it. I thought the original was superb; it had an "old school" vibe to it; no pretence, just did what it needed to and did it well.

Reviews are out for this now. They seem to vary from 'highly polished but darker and somehow missing what made the original great' to 'better than the original in every way'. It being a M$ published title I assume there's a deal of arselickery going on with some reviewers. I don't do gamepass so would be interested to hear peoples honest opinions when it does release as I think I've decided to wait until the hype blows over before purchasing.

Mortismal (very much an RPG player) liked it, he said the companions were lacking a bit but that it was an improvement over the first game and that if you liked the first, you'll like the second.

Perhaps the most encouraging review comment for me I saw in the Reddit review thread: "a proper RPG with action elements, not just an action game with role-playing features."

Having played so many games recently that went the opposite route, even if they were okay in their own way, I'm really hoping this is accurate and we have an interesting and deeper set of RPG choices here. Plenty of other reviews seem to note the choice-heavy, flexible systems and interactions too, so I'm starting to really look forward to this.

Hopefully I can line up finishing Wuchang with the release date on GP.

It is indeed, 6pm today and I'm all ready and raring to go. Premium Edition was a no brainer for me with Arc Raiders coming out on the 30th, having this come out on the 29th wouldnt have given me enough time to fully enjoy it before Arc Raiders the next day, so Premium gives me a nice 5 day long chance to bathe in Outer Worlds goodness before Arc Raiders
