General Filament Chat

Another user of Bambu matt, Dark green/Bone white/Charcoal/Ash Grey all print lovely and are true matt unlike some others I've bought, I tend to do bulk orders on refills which work out at £11.99 a roll when you buy 6.
Ive just picked up four rolls of bambu matte to give it a spin, see if it looks nicer on titan prints. Also picked up some sunlu high speed pla just for a whirl

As the learning curve continues.... I learnt the lesson of cheap filament. Lol. Eyrone black PLA+ really does not work well with my Ender 3 V2. Sunlu however has been fantastic, with some great prints from it.

Anyone tried the new SunLu PLA+2.0 yet?
Marketting fud or actual good stuff?

Might get some when I get home..

I find Sunlu confusing at the moment I have gone through dozens of rolls of Sunlu PLA+ this passed year, some have been on the one piece black spools with the massive centre hole and then the newer rolls came on a re-usable spool and now there's an even newer re-usable spool that's more Bambu compatible. With regards to "2.0" there's been a Sunlu 2.0 preset on both Bambu and Prusa slicer that I've used the entire time dating back well over 6 months which makes me think 2.0 is not new and has been pretty much every roll I have had on either spool.

To add I have never had any issues with any Sunlu PLA+ on any spool whether it's the 2.0 or not I am unsure :D

I got a bundle (4xspools) of Deeplee PETG for less than £8.50 per 1kg spool and it seems to be very good stuff. I haven't had any problems with it but then again, I haven't had any problems with any of the brands I have tried so far.

Yeah I was tempted by their Halloween sale, just moving house though so need to be more aware of space usage until things are settled, probably not the best time to stock up :D

Sunlu are currently offering 3 rolls of PLA for £8.99 each. Also offers on PETG & ABS. I just ordered 6 PLA Matte filament rolls.

So tempted by that as I recently got a reel of Sunlu Matte Black PLA, which is absolutely tops in the P1S, as in it works flawlessly. My only issue is I know I'm going to end up with a heap of empty spools! I wish more manufacturers did refills in all their colours like Bambu do. Already got about 6 empty spools so I am primarily grabbing refills if I can.

I received my 6 PLA spools on Thursday and have just noticed Sunlu have switched to reusable spools.

Hmm that spool matches the one I currently have matte black PLA with. I'll check for an bambu like alignment nub on the spool when it's empty. Hopefully this means Sunlu will start selling other colour refills other than black and white!

I believe (though I've not physically checked) that the latest Sunlu spools are designed to take a Bambu refill. I did look a couple of times but never found a Sunlu refill available. Not sure I see how being Bambu refill compatible doesn't directly hurt Sunlu though....unless they're manufacturing the filament for Bambu in the first place.

I have read that Sunlu does manufacture Bambu filament but since it's on the internet who really knows. Obviously better Grade A, Grade B etc QA processes will be in place to ensure Bambu gets the better quality control of output.
