Woo-hoo, the clocks go back to GMT next weekend!

Great, we’ll have slightly lighter mornings for a week or so. Why do we still do this nonsense, farmers aren’t affected by it anymore.
I really don't like it getting dark so early the only benefit I can think of is that the extra hour in the morning gives things a little longer to warm up a bit so slightly less risk from frosts / black ice when people are heading out especially for anyone on 2 wheels.

during this time of year it's gonna get dark earlier anyway and weather is colder / damp is 1hr really gonna make massive difference?

About hobbies we switch to indoor football or play under the lights and gym doesn't really make any difference either way

Yes.

Child and clocks changing, less sunlight after school.
I never see daylight in the morning outside of summer so it's nice to see a little when I finish work

No thank you.

more daylight only matters when the sun is high enough in the sky to actually raise temperatures, look at weather forecases it doesnt start getting warm until almost mid day.

you'd have to shift the clocks like 6 hours to get less risk of ice.

I'm already dreading winter, often foggy where I live NE about 20 miles from the coast, that fog usually means damp, in winter it means ice or frost thats basically ice :/

must be nice to live somewhere with dry air

It won't make any difference in the middle of winter or if there is a real cold snap but even an hour can make a difference at the start / tail end of the weather patterns changing when cycle paths and the back roads cyclists use to avoid some of the traffic never get treated.

Just did my last post work dog walk in the beautiful day light, tomorrow onwards it will be utter miserable disgusting horrible dark cold for months  even worse when it rains!!! :(

Whoever 'enjoys' the dark miserable cold needs their head checking - we NEED BST all year for an endless array of health reasons.

Madness.

Its nothing to do with temperature and everything to do with day length, besides the affect on mood rush hour traffic coming home in the pitch dark is no fun

I'm well aware that day length will effect everyones mood I'm already in hibernate mode; the days have been getting shorter since June it was only a few weeks ago I could cycle to the shops at 20:00 and not need my lights.

There's a local frost pocket that was on my old cycle commute that always catches cyclists out, I know from experience that on days I had to start earlier I was at greater risk of ending up on my **** if I wasn't very careful. Of course it doesn't make any difference in the middle of winter when the temperature is hardly above freezing point at midday but I know that route could be bad even in spring if you were going in early.

Ah, Zulu time, Bliss!

Beautiful sunrise up here, good view of Venus rising too.

Walked the fog in day again this morning, fantastic. Kids will walk to school in the light again.
