*** Microsoft Windows 11 Thoughts & Discussion Thread ***

One of the recent updates for Edge tries to trick you (more so than normal) into setting it as the default browser... disgusting behaviour.

Something I've noticed for a while now with my system that's odd... in order for my system to be able to access the internet,
I have to restart the machine once again, then it will connect just fine. Strange.

I used to be able to select restart adapter, which worked every time, though that hardly ever works now. Weird...

I'm assuming it's something at BT's end?

So I've just updated from Windows 10 to Windows 11 on one PC (sorta testing the water). What tweaks and such do people do to make it useable and less annoying?
A friend recommended "Winaero Tweaker", is that generally considered a good starting option?

The things I always do straight off: "Start Menu back on the left, disabled using Print screen key to open screen capture (accessibility settings), restored right click context menus, restored Image Preview on the context menu for images (though it doesn't work in 11 as well as 10)".

reg.exe add "HKCU\Software\Classes\CLSID\{86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}\InprocServer32" /f /ve

Nice, thanks. Was hoping it would be a reliable one and if it's from Microsoft's site then I'll take it. :)

They are taking their time rolling it out (the new start menu), hopefully that means they are taking the time to do it right  rather than having problems with it.

If you install the latest preview update one of the biggest memes of Win 11 might finally be fixed

Improved: Addressed underlying issue which can cause “Update and shutdown” to not actually shut down your PC after updating.

Holy crap I was just about to rage post about my Win11 install doing just that again the other evening...

Updated to (KB5067036) (26200.7019) on my main Windows 11 desktop... almost none of the features and/or fixes are present for some reason.
