Mazda 6 advice MOT

We bought a Mazda 6 sport April 2024. It failed the MOT in the December, due to the tyre, however we were told due to these advisories it would fail it's next MOT.
Surly this is something that can be fixed??

The car is a 2012 and had only done 59000 miles on the MOT. It's a fantastic car, it would be such a shame to just scrap it and get a new car. Any advice?

Offside Rear Anti-roll bar linkage ball joint excessively worn (5.3.4 (a) (i))
Nearside Rear Anti-roll bar linkage insecurely attached (5.3.3 (a) (i))
Headlamp aim too high both (4.1.2 (a))
Parking brake efficiency below requirements (1.4.2 (a) (i))
 
all sound fairly simple to fix, but with insane hour rates these days and people dragging out jobs or straight up making up how long it actually took, the bill may still sting a bit.
 
Sounds like the tester could be right. Slight faults or play are advisories but over time they worsen and become failures. Get them fixed when they fail the mot unless you prefer to know everything is right with the car and get them fixed when they're advisories. The only thing with advisories is they can sometimes take a LONG time to become failures.

I've even had advisories on one MOT that wasn't there on the next one!

Edit: Some advisories can affect other things like excessive wear on tyres or increased fuel usage so I'd get them fixed sooner than later. :)

Of course it can be fixed, garages wouldn't have much business otherwise. What gave you the impression that it's irreparable?
I know someone who works at a Mercedes garage, but they service and MOT fleet vehicles, artic lorries etc. 3 technicians told me to get a new car. The issues raised is not something they can do as they have their own jobs with contracted vehicles but if it's something that could get done at a garage, I would rather spend a couple grand getting it done. The engine and everything else is sound !

Hopefully won't sting as much as a whole new car
 
That is less than £500 of work and easy to do on that car. Any vaguely competent garage can fix those.
ARB droplinks are about £30 each for the Mazda 6. The headlight aim is a simple screw. The parking brake could just need adjusting.
 
3 technicians work experience kids told me to get rid
I know "technicians" get a lot of flack these days for basically just being useless if computer says no but if they truly believe that they shouldn't be anywhere near vehicles.
 
Can't tell you details but the parking brake one is a common one with 10+ year old 6s and should be an easy and relatively inexpensive, though not cheap, fix. Friends and family have had it several times. Again don't know details but another common one at around 10 years is a rear heat shield coming loose due to corrosion and making a noise like your suspension is about to collapse.

Those aren’t advisories, they’re failures.
New drop links, adjust headlamps (half hour labour), and at worst (although likely) either a new caliper or 2 to solve the handbrake efficiency.
Adjusting the cable won’t make any difference to the efficiency.

No, you got the wrong end of the stick, he meant it will fail its next mot IF you leave it, as in, you need to get that stuff repaired BEFORE the next mot.
