Hi All, I'm looking to buy an OcUK Pinnacle RTX 5070 Ti, 32GB, 16" Laptop, mainly for 3d CAD and modelling. The spec is far better than my existing Lenovo GTX 1650 i7 Gaming Laptop, which still works great after 5 years but is a little underspecced for complex 3d tasks.

I have a couple of questions for Pinnacle owners before I buy though if you'd be so kind;

Firstly, is it possible to toggle the FnLock, maybe with Fn-Esc to prioritise either the F keys or the alternative Fn keys? I know this may seem a simple question but this currently doesn't work on my Lenovo Laptop. I know my clients use Lenovo ThinkPads and these show the FnLock on the Esc key and this works fine. I use the F keys a lot with CAD and so these need to be priority.

Secondly, I need an additional charger to keep in my Laptop bag so the original can be neatly integrated into my home office desk. OcUK have told me that they can't sell me one separately. Does anyone have any recommendations for a charger that will fit?

Thanks in advance!

it just a standard barbal connector, when the laptop in undocked would you still be gaming? if so you would need a 100w+ power pack if not then any would do you just fine.
when you get the laptop just simply google the modal number on the power pack.

on a side note given the price it dose look like a good spce laptop.. but remember it black friday in a few weeks and OcUK always frow a few laptop in there

Thanks for the reply. I will only be using graphics intensive 3d modelling periodically so a lower power charger will be fine.

in that case dose it support Type C charging? if it dose a 20/40w power brick and a long usb cable would do you.

looking at the spec it dose, id buy an apple mac charger and a good cable(you can use it for your phone too)

  • USB Ports:
2 x Thunderbolt™ 4 combo port with Power Delivery DC in
    2 x USB 3.2 Gen2 ports (Type A) with 1 x Powered USB, AC/DC
    2 x USB 3.2 Gen2 ports (Type A)
i know you can get the 96w charger for around £40 from places like cex

That's a great shout! I never even considered USB C.

Hi,

On your first point it's not something I have checked. I will try and find out for you.

The chargers we only have spares for the 18" model I'm still waiting for the 16" laptop chargers with no date yet. It looks like a suggestion has been made above as well.

Thanks for the reply Robbie. I did call earlier and speak to a member of staff regarding the Fn Lock and they couldn't confirm, so hopefully either yourself or someone with a Pinnacle might be able to answer for me. The units look good and i used to be a member of OcUK years ago when I was into PC building so it would be good to support you guys to do business again.
