hi guys I’m looking for some pc spec recommendations for my little lads gaming pc for Christmas. I’m unsure as to weather to go intel or amd and looking to spend 1k any advice will be really appreciated also he likes to play the likes of Fortnite and Roblox some times a bit of call of duty

Are you buying prebuilt or will you be building yourself?

Take a look at the sticky thread as it gives you a template to make it easier to get advice.

where is the sticky thread?

seeing the current ram prices, i don't think there's any point speccing this ram as i doubt ocuk will have them in stock at these sort of prices any time soon
Let's live in hope , could get 32gb of Corsair 6000mhz for £90 2 weeks ago but prices seem to change weekly.

cheers guys thats a good little rig with the 4070 isnt it he wants my rig but hes got no chance haha

Instead of the cooler, maybe go for the 9600x instead of the 7600x, it would be an extra £1. The 9600x comes with a cooler included. 65W CPU so dosnet need a great one. Also very easy to just get a cpu cooler down the line rater then the cpu.

A 7600 with a £10-15 third party HSF like the above will run better than a 7600X with the stock, it'll also look better, run cooler, and be far less audible.

On OCUK the price difference is £10, I'm assuming you mean the 7600X anyway as the 9600X is £40 more. That said, the stock 7600 comes with a stock cooler, the 7600X does not so it's a moot point, same trend holds true for the 9600/9600X.

If you mean 7600 to 9600 while using the stock, that might be a viable option, but I'd still aim for a better HSF down the line. Depending on the game the 9600 can be up to 20-25% faster, although on average is around 5%.

Looks like i looked at the 9600 vs the 9600x.

Prices change frequently for the two, i got a 7600x last year as the prive differnece was £55 at the time.

I have seen them for nearly the same price on here in the last few months a few times and for that litle price difference the 9600x makes more sense. Maybe it will go down on black friday?
