Has anyone tried the Samsung Smart Tag as a tracker for their bikes? Thinking of getting one as a cheap alternative for now.

Edit: Grammar due to auto correct.

Got the moman. Not impressed with it.

Can't get it start/stop recording, there is no notification of those changes.I got some kind of speech coming out when it did start recording, I think I held the two buttons on the front , but it's not doing it anymore.

Lacks intercom, I thought they all come as standard.

Also to get it connected via wifi/app I need to connect it to power source

In fairness I'd have also expected it to have the intercom function and would've also made that mistake. That being said, having used a cheap system before, it's a ball ache. Battery constantly dying, constantly losing connection and reconnecting which you'd think is fine as you're not using it, but every time it disconnects and reconnects it does a little jingle which gets extremely frustrating after the 50th time and accelerates the battery drain.

When it comes to stuff like that, I'd rather pay more and get a brand which has a reputation to uphold.

sending it back, I recorded video for 2 second intervals. And I can't see how you start or stop, no notification of anything.

that and the stupid bracket that makes it stick out ...
Returned it..

Anyone with

Just dealing with bikure, I informed them I have evidence of asbergers (unemployed due to that condition) and asked how that effects policy, and they tried to put the price up £65 + £35 admin fee, without my consultation or phone call.

Absolutely disgusting, I'll be moving to another.

Wouldn't any medical conditions have been declared at the point of getting a quote.... before taking the policy.....?

I was in the process of that, I've now had the diagnosis, so I asked if it reduces the premium, but they just send me email/policy change without my permission.

You know who it is right?

He probably told them he's a dolphin too.

Why don't replicate the ending of Mad Max and Sons of Anarchy.

Oh Bikesure...while they are cheap they are an interesting bunch.

Couple of years ago I took out a policy 3ish weeks before renewal, I noticed when they sent everything through I'd put an extra year on the when did you buy the bike question. Called them up to update it

"no problem, that'll put your policy up by £X plus the £Y admin fee"

I'd also run a quote through a comparison site with the corrected date and they'd come back on there with a quote that was basically what I'd already paid

"Ok but can you match the price you're offering right now on a comparison website?"
"No, that price doesn't include insurance tax which is why it's lower"

Paraphrasing my response slightly but it was along the lines of "You're full of ****, the price doesn't go up when I buy it because the quote already includes IPT" Anyway they wouldn't budge.

So I asked to cancel the policy that still wouldn't be in force for another 3 weeks "No problem, you'll get basically nothing back because of the admin fee"

"FFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU...fine I'll pay the additional fee"

I can understand why people ride without insurance.

Because of Bikesure's dodgy business practices?

I've never had any issues. The ZZR is with Express Insurance Services which is just Carole Nash with a fancy nameplate, and the ADV is with Lexham who have been fine, except for their ridiculous £65 admin fee for changing anything on a policy. If you want to change 3 things on one phone call, they charge per item. Dunno if this is common practice, but if it isn't, I'll go with someone else this time.

This is Adrian Flux in a nutshell. They are cheap but by god, never change anything on your policy - ever. Just take out new insurance. :D
