Cost of Living - Shrinkflation is speeding up at an alarming rate

they literally adding it as a bulking agent it's not the same thing.
net result for that product still seems the same is saturated fats - so water maybe being used to restore a more dehydrated(antipodean/frozen ?...) butter fat to normal consistency,
so it's not immediately something to worry about.

Ice-creams got air in it and you really have to evaluate it by the dairy fats/sugar in it, by ml serving, versus double cream (unless you are into vegan carte-d'or)
Ice cream is a scam

You need to look at the ingredients to see if it even has any cream, yet it's legally fine to still call it Ice cream despite having zero cream
Ketchup is expensive here... Lol

How does Kewpie Mayo compare ?

I can see a lot more businesses closing down over the next few years as people are being left with less & less money to spend
And are local government are doing the same as the UK government increasing everything they can plus rent & house prices are sky high like £2000 for 2 bed flat..

Maltesers are the new saffron, crazy prices for those Xmas size boxes!!!

How old is this price

Holly **** Maltesers £6.90 for a 310gram box .... What is going on.

I have been on a 0 artificial sugar detox for a little over a year now but we make exceptions for Christmas.

Amazon is great for "cheap sweets". We (well the missus) has bought 1KG bulk bags of classics like Jazzies, pink shrimp, chocolate mice, Black Jacks/Fruit Salad etc. £10 per KG. They are all hidden though because I am too weak otherwise.

I can't have sweets in the house.
Zero willpower to leave them or only have a few, a few turns into the whole bag soon enough.

I used to do four squares of chocolate a day (snapped of side of a bar) to curb the sweet tooth, but that devolved into going back shortly after for the rest. So cannot have it in the house at all. Walking to the self checkout at the supermarket is painful as there's just a massive amount of sweets, cakes on the way, I hold my breath walking down the isle as stupid as that sounds and avert my gaise.

I've resorted to having Huel nowadays for over half my meals, so I don't have the temptation as often. Although I've grown fond of the taste. I do have this odd treat now and again but only like a single muffin/donut or whatever takes my fancy that is gone before getting in the house, usually only a monthly treat. Just cannot trust my glutinous side.

The funny thing is that Heinz beans have the brand recognition and are so expensive, but usually do badly in blind tastings against much cheaper alternatives.
they don't even have consistency between tins, some heinz tins are watery and some arent

you can pretty much feel the difference when you shake the cans

This is the crux of the issue. Money that circulates in the economy is great. You pay your money to businesses and they employ people and pay tax and buy supplies etc from other businesses and that money just goes around.

Rent and utilities is largely dead money. Its not floating around in the economy. Lots of it is going offshore, its going to shareholders. Going to the already super rich.
