**** The Official Chinese Phones Thread ****

@Chris344
Finally got my hands in the OnePlus 15 and initial impressions are it's a solid handset. Feels and looks great, performs rapidly.

Initial setup done. Haptics feel good, speakers are also good. Had to drop the dpi to 480 for my sweet spot.

The sandstone case is bob on and the top speaker cutout is done properly. Subtle and no overly large cutout. Feels lovely.

Gotta say a very polished release from OP. And at the price we paid it's an absolute steal. The battery is taking ages to die... I want to test out the fast charging speeds on the meter.
Only had a brief play with the camera but so far so good. Seems like a solid shooter fast and reliable. Tested it out on my toddler and it managed to freeze motion which is a great start. I'll have a more scenic day on Tues where I can give it a proper go.

I'm using my travel 65W charger and it's still rapid.
Which model do you have?

So I've tested a 65W PPS unit that gives 41W peak.

The 65W SuperVOOC I have back from the OnePlus 9 Pro gives 56W peak and the 120W gives 75W peak. This last one drops to 44W after 60%.

Happy with that. Could have been better. Xiaomi 17 series does 100W PPS.

I've got my OnePlus 15 sat in box locked away until Christmas. Let's hope it's not DOA. Seems to getting done stick on review sites but they're reviewing it at £980 instead of £740 plus free gift which is quite the different animal

Yes Nova and Afterglow icons. Stock OnePlus launcher is pretty lame like most oem launchers.
Ta, I was trying to give it a chance but have gone back to what I know - Nova. Just hope Nova behaves on the OP - I had to force restart it surprisingly often on my S23U.

I recently read that Nova launcher is to be no more? The developer is walking away?
Correct. Still works for now and I'll have to switch to another at some point.

Typing this out I have to mention the haptics on the 15 is great. Apparently a downgrade compared to last years 13... but compared to other phones I've used it's up there with the best.

Do you have a delay when switching to the home screen and your icons appearing? Very noticeable on mine.

Yes I was just about to reply to your older post. Yes I have the delay. It was certainly annoying but I got used it it. Still far batter than the stock launcher.

I like oxygen it's very fluid and enough customization for my liking, i tried nova launcher while back but I think I got to the point I don't like b change once used to something

I don't know why they don't just add more grid sizes and proper icon support. Gestures too.

Also no easy way to get screen on time since last full charge which is silly.

Best phone for under £200 right now possibly on black Friday deals? Need a new low to mid range Android for my daughter. I want at least 2 years worth of updates ideally. Cheaper the better as well.

think you can get SOT by scrolling from where it left off from full charge its green in the chart and swipe forward but yeah was much easier to understand before the update

Battery life on the OP15 is pretty mind blowing. 5 hrs SoT over 20hrs off charge.... and still 50% left by 6pm. And that's on mobile data no WiFi and that's including 8hrs of standby time overnight, I fully charged at 10pm previous night.

I couldn't kill the battery in 24hrs even if I tried. Battery anxiety finally defeated after all these years of smartphone. Top marks OnePlus.

And it fully charges in around 40 mins. The benchmark has been set.

Off topic from the OP 15 discussion, I'm still looking for an upgrade from my Magic 5 Pro, has anyone looked at the Poco F8 Ultra? Looks like a lot of phone for the money, the cameras might be more of a sidestep, but the rest of the phone looks great.
