Why, hello thar!!!

Only person I still see regularly is Piggymon :p

I still browse here quite a bit but don't post too often. Mainly checking out motors and the bikes section.
What's happened to Loadsamoney, he disappeared years ago, made a guest appearance then went into hiding again

I've been a member here since 1999/2000 when getting advice on using a pencil to overclock an Athlon.
Damn that takes me back… Was that to unlock the Athlon? I remember going from 1Ghz to 1.33Ghz with that trick. Back in the days when overclocking was fun and manual!

I think so. I remember it could only be done on certain cpus with a model number of something or other. I was lucky enough to have one.

2002 I was young, dumb and full of...a zest for life I seem to miss now.

I think at 16 I thought computers were just porn and games, at 39 I know they are just porn and games.

I always feel sorry for the original owner Pete.

I found this, it's how Mark described the start.

It's incredible to think that he had the business from 1999 to 2012 and Caseking have been running it since then, it's nearly been longer with Caseking than it was with Mark.

Overclockers UK was my idea although I was a customer of Pete Radford's business, Millenium Computers. I bought the domain name and presented Pete Radford with a business plan. Pete and I started the business back in 1999 and it was on an equal footing from the start. At the same time I created these forums.

After several years our business relationship broke down and Pete was given the chance to buy me out. He couldn't raise the funds so he agreed to be bought out for exactly the same amount as I was offered. Pete went on do do other things and I grew the business, eventually selling to Caseking in January 2012.

He had the vision and took a chance.

Here before the nuke, re-joined on the 18th Oct 02. Probably every major life event of mine is recorded in here in some form or other...

I've been a member for more than half my life

Same. I can’t remember when I joined but I was a member before the Nuke. I’m 40 in Feb and the forums have been my homepage for all these years. Although I don’t post much and there were big periods of inactivity I always read the forums on a daily basis. I’m very glad they still exist given many have died out over the years.

It's all detailed in post 3.

Not sure it was quite that early. @Werewolf?

/edit - I've checked back and according to Spie, OcUK started trading in June 1999. The tenth anniversary party was in 2009.
June 1999 sounds about right, I vaguely remember finding the store when I was looking at an update for a K6-2 350, and getting a Slot A Athlon early in 00, and being made a mod in about June or July '00. IIRC that was the year we had a huge heatwave or and everyone's PC was overheating because the standard cases at the time were lucky to have an intake and exhaust fan (unlike the 802 tornado modded cases which I think had to be clamped to the desk to stop them taking off, and headphones were a must for hearing protection).
