Okay Mr survey police. I did it as thoroughly as I felt I needed to, a lot of the questions weren't even relevant to me so we're just "no opinion"Then you didn't do it properly.
Lisa Nandy has launched the BBC’s Charter Review and shied away from any attempt to fundamentally reform the BBC’s funding model. Are you surprised…
You can phone up and cancel, or even do it online. This will probably stop any nasty letters for about a year (not guaranteed though). But legally speaking you don't need to inform them and can just cancel your DD. That second option will result in lots of threatening letters (which means nothing - just ignore them) and, although unlikely, a possible sales person labelled as an enforcement officer turning up on your doorstep. You can just close the door on them though and do not need to answer any questions or let them in.I think I'm gonna cancel mine. Another £44 quarterly payment out today and every time I think to myself I barely watch it what's the point.
Can I just cancel the DD or do I have to phone up and go through their questionnaire?

It did take me a while I have to say. Then you didn't do it properly.
Ah yes, I seem to recall someone previously mentioned they removed the option to do it online (I assume it's to add friction so people can't be bothered to cancel as they have recently had record numbers do just that).I can't do it online it seems I have to call. Tempted to just cancel DD.
That must be very recent, as I cancelled ours online a couple of weeks ago. We got a refund of around £78. We've not watched TV in almost 2 years, it's one of those things we left running just because. The only content in our house is Netflix, Jellyfin and ITVX - we have no aerial, no IPTV, and no cable or Sky. Annoyingly, the form insisted we provide a date we 'plan to watch live TV again'. I set it to some time in the 2100s as it was a mandatory question, as though someone couldn't possibly *not* come back to live TV. The form kindly auto-magically changed this to next year and wouldn't accept any other answer. That made me all the more determined just to ignore them in future and not bother re-declaring. That's just malicious.Ah yes, I seem to recall someone previously mentioned they removed the option to do it online (I assume it's to add friction so people can't be bothered to cancel as they have recently had record numbers do just that).

This is worth a watch....
The cancel and refund form is still right where it used to be?You can just cancel the direct debit. A lot of people are doing that now they started forcing people to phone. Or you can just tell them you died using that option, which just brings up the old form lol
