Tabletop Warhammer?

Think I will pickup a bottle of the normal and quickset. In general it’s hard to fault any of Tamiya products.

Apart from picking and cleaning up a few head sculpts I have a full warband of Chaos Warriors built :) also might do a little bit of gap filling.

It’s nice that they did away with a lot of weapon profiles so I could build the models the way I wanted to and not have a negative effect if i chose to game with them :)

I've recently started using tamiya extra thin and find I can hold the two parts together and dab it onto the join. Far nicer than occasionality using too big a drop and having to tidy it up.

Stopped into the GW store last weekend on the off chance there was still some of the DW monthly model, nope ( :D). Did have to grab this though.

This is how it's meant to be used really, it'll dry out quickly if you're trying to apply it to the parts and then stick them together like regular cement - though this can help a little with some fiddly parts to help keep them steady initially whilst it's a little tacky. The best way of using it is taking advantage of the capillary action with the thin fluid, it'll work its way into the joints itself with minimal mess if it's just dabbed on as you say.

Nipped into town and picked up Tamiya Cement and Extra thin quick setting. That should have all bases covered. I was just using the thin as brush on then hold.

A friend just messaged me to say there is a new games store specialising in Warhamner and Pokemon just opened about very near me.

I hadn't seen any coming soon signs because the high street they are on always has silly parking outside, so my eyes are always on the road :p.

Hopefully they will carry other hobby supply ranges too but either way it will be good having an indy shop in this part of Bristol.

That’s could be a bad on the wallet!! I picked up the glue in the local RC and model shop. They have also recently started to branch out into wargames. They had the new Warhammer quest and quite a few of the Christmas box Sets on the shelf. Had to make a quick exit as I was getting tempted!

Oh god, don't talk to me about the temptation of Warhammer Quest. I almost got that instead of a new cpu, which would have been awkward with the memory and mobo sat on the table .

Bought some daemon allies for my Chaos Knights a while ago but wasn’t having fun when I started to paint them so they got put away. Decided to build them all up and paint them over Christmas whether I enjoyed myself or not:

Pretty happy with the result, they don’t stand up to close scrutiny but 41 models in a week is definitely a record for me!

Might get another box of pink horrors. At the moment I’ve got a unit of pinks and its associated blues and brimstones, and another unit of blues and brimstones but I think I’d like to be able to run 2 x 10 pinks instead if I wanted.

@PardonTheWait they are suitably bright and unpleasant, just the effect you want to give your opponent. Only time I got that many minis painted was when I got a good flow for Zombicide zombies (last year or year before). Struggling with motivation at moment due to sleep pattern and stalling on my Heroquest undead.

I am going to switch to my Nurgle Combat Patrol for a change l, as soon as gety spray booth set up. Need to clear stuff once Christmas decs get put away.

Can anyone suggest a good budget clip on lamp for painting? My LED one just died and it seems I can't just buy a new LED array, which is a shame. I have a really small paint station so hoping for something really compact!

Happy New Year all.

Noxia those Imperial fists are insanely good, the dreadnought, the tanks the terminators, I've never seen better. The yellow and weathering look incredible, amazing technique. The air brushing looks so smooth.

Big image dump below of my rough and ready hand brush painted ork combat patrol that I finished before Christmas, had to grind it out and the wartrike was a pain to assemble especially as you have to glue small connecxting areas for fully painted parts right at the end. But I do prefer my selection overall to the standard combat patrol, also fits great in the cases I use.

You can see it in the full case below, the acrylic is really nice and clear and they fit just right with my kitbashed protective section too.

I loved this sculpt, such a great model.

This ork wanted a herald so made one himself, pity it uses a live grenade.

Cheers all, I'm now making a kitbashed faction that I've mostly built but not painted yet including a kitbashed tank, I might have to get an airbrush for it to try to make to smoother than hand painting.

@PC777 Thanks for the kind words, feels odd considering how useless I felt two years ago.

That's a tremendous output you have there, I have long been thinking about an orange and black army of some sort.

One observation/feedback, they look very glossy, did you wash them as a final stage or actually intentionally varnish them satin or gloss?

I feel a matte varnish would really benefit unless that was intended look (could always satin after) could be the photos of course.

I’ve started to mix my varnishes :D

I like to land in between matte and satin. Too matte and the colours don’t pop.

Hoping to get some panting done this weekend if I can get this flu shifted. Also starting to try and cut out stages to make the painting process less labour intensive. No gloss varnish stage before oil washes etc.

Happy New Year guys, my 3d printer has been busy over the Christmas period, built myself two War-Ganizers to transport my minis in, I can easily fit 4 teams in the Blood Bowl one along with all the tokens and dice.

I will be printing out an attachment that fits on the rear of the box which takes a rule book plus game board too ;)

Your stuff's getting really nice mate especially in terms of impact. I bet these look great on the table - and I don't mean as opposed to up close, I mean they must pop really well at a distance. Really nice yellow armour.

Deffo look better on the table than up close :D, but hopefully my opponents won't have them up to their face lol. Hoping to get enough done for another beginner tournament in March. Got a game next Sat but don't think I'll have 2k points ready.
