Arc Raiders

i think they do need a way of pleasing both sets of players for long term player base.

Personally i would do 2 new maps giving 7 in total , then on rotation make 2 maps PVP ( turn off the abilty to kill another player in the other 5 maps ) and then in those 5 maps greatly increase the amount of ARC.

Also i like the missions and feel they should introduce weekly missions , these could be for 1,2 or 3 players needing to work together and can only be done in non pvp mode.
And watch the player base drop off a cliff. If you don't want PVP then you bought the wrong game.

The only change I'd like is an additional map event for free loadouts only. Think it would be funny if everyone was free loadout and about 20 minutes in all the ammo has ran out and people are swinging pickaxes around :D

I could get onboard with that tbh. Think it'd be funny.

It's not a great idea what is being suggested, the way it is now is what has made it so popular.
IF it stays like it is now it's ok imo. play like a psycho then get matched with others ,. play like one of the last survivors of humanity up against alien invaders and get matched with others - with only rare betrayals.

my concern is what happens when people get bored, will the balance which is there now disappear and it will just become another humans killing humans game.
I don't have much faith in humanity but I like to think in the scenario presented in arc raiders, where actually if people work together there IS plenty to survive and win that for the most part that is what we would do.

I think some people who have chosen not to fight other raiders will get bored, and that isn't a problem.

Their behaviour will change and they'll get their PvP murder-hobo lobbies in varying degrees depending on how aggressive they are.
And if they don't like it they'll return to the carebear lobbies.

I've already done that myself. From almost entirely friendly interactions, to complete kill on site, and then back again.

I'm sure many others have too, in both directions. Which makes me think the scenario you are concerned about is already occurring, and regulating itself.

So as long as the player base isn't split (by something like a PvE only mode) this balance will continue.

crap games this morning, just needed 2 bombardier cells....

First run we got attacked so retaliated and dropped the team of 3.
2nd game we got in and dropped the bombardier only to be jumped when looting with shotguns
3rd game spawned in ran to station and got jumped instantly

So I'm assuming that's now me flagged as "pvp" so pointless playing for the day

I need to get more ruthless at this game. am way too soft. came up on another player shooting someone , had him cornered with both guns empty and he said don't shoot he was defending himself so I didn't despite having a fully loaded shotgun point blank on him. let him go then 10 seconds later when looting he shot me in the back. I should just err on caution and auto shoot any players firing on each other or looting another body and accept some collateral damage

In another run I did kill someone with my pickaxe however after their initial opening attack failed to kill me, which was very satisfying (I was doing a completely unarmed run in the indoors map (name escapes me)
I finally found the flow controller so I can tick another mission off now

Thinking of picking this up, from watching YouTube videos it seem like an active Mic is almost essential for the game. Is this true? I never talk in games (usually play late at night and don't want to wake people up).

Not essential at all but makes the game more fun.
Quick tip for trials - gather 100 snowballs, find a good place with cover and shoot 2 of the Rocketeers thrusters off, it will fall to the ground letting you throw all your snowballs at it, easy 20k+

Not essential. But you might find some people trust you less in playing solos if you only use emotes and not mic.

Also so desperate to find a wolfpack blueprint - I didn't even reset and still don't have it

I do not have a mic and I have not had any issues.

If I see another raider I normally use the "greeting" option and it normally says "Hello Raider"

You can get away without a mic, but you potentially also lose the chance of grabbing some free loot offered by other raiders. I am also one of those people who hardly ever spoke on the mic when gaming, I bought a mic especially for this game.

Guy gave me some free loot the other day after a brief chat on the mic.

Okay it was a cat bed that I didn't need but the thought was there!

Just had a few corrupted install error messages?
Ive verified files and still happening, any ideas apart from redownloading?

I just tried to get the achievement for getting out with a few seconds to spare. whilst waiting I thought I would take out some flying drones on buried city whilst hiding on the metro steps. big mistake.

when I turned round to extract the gates were locked. not sure how it is possible to do this one if you get locked out of the metro. maybe the wrong map.

Call the Metro/lift with a min or so to go. Once it arrives, just stand in it and start typing on the keyboard when there is 10 seconds left on the timer.
