Black Alloy Wheels

My company car never gets anything other than a quick run through the swirl-o-matic at Tesco so black wheels are prefect for me. My previous car had quite nice alloys in silver but they always looked rubbish after being half cleaned by the spinney brush.

I think it looks better in silver, still:

MY EYES!!!!!! :eek::eek:

Some folk is butt guys, some folk is boob guys..... and some folk is feet guys.... :p

Black i can deal with, its the sodding diamond cut ones with black bit that i dont like. Diamond cut is great on a new car, but once they get chipped or scraped then the white worm starts :(

Unfortunately it can be worse than that.

For cost, the edges are not always de burred, especially when refurbed. That means when the lacquer is applied on top, it’s slightly raised on the edges and becomes a target for road grit when driving

End result is that you be microscopic fractures in the lacquer which can and does allow water ingress = blown lacquer :(

Don't personally like them but aren't offended by them, each to their own but personally I've only seen them on 1 or 2 cars and thought "Yeah they work well"

I'm going to enrage you all now

They were done for my son. He said my car looked like one of his hot wheels and I had them done to match his hot wheel.

Lad loves cars and I think he's gone through enough with 3 brain surgeries in his first 5 years of life not to have a little joy. (He now 7 and just like any normal kid, except the medical equipment bolted to his skull)

Black with a touch of silver worked.

Lot of silver on black diamond cut wheels look really nice but unless you spend a lot of effort protecting and maintaining them they will start looking really tatty in 2-3 years :( annoying thing is it wouldn't take manufacturers much to make them 10x more resistant to normal wear, tear and exposure to road salt, etc.

How would that enrage anyone?

That’s an awesome thing to do!! Love that so much

Also, best of luck for your boy going forward - he’s already been through more than most ever will

Many aren't a fan of the whole car but I didn't do it for them.

There's still more to do, mainly cosmetics but they're on hold atm as the belt/waterpump is due and just for ***** and giggles the clutch has started slipping, so a 2K bill

I think they look OK but only with the right body colour. Silver car and black wheels works as silver wheels will never be the same colour as the body and so will clash.
I've got black wheels on my silver Mustang and they don't look too bad. Still planning to change them to bronze or something though. Just waiting to kerb them as the driver to get them done.

They only look good on black cars I think otherwise there is to much of a contrast. But bronze looks better.

Especially with red or white. If not silver then bronze or gold. Not black.
