Hi, Ive been a customer with OC for ages. Since I got into gaming at iseries.

There was a Planetside 1 section at i31 (Summer 2007)

Overclockers got into the desk delivery much after that at later LANs. Its sad Multiplay Iseries stopped. The OC delivery to desk was baller. I was actually playing Planetside 2 at this point.

Anyway!

The good news is anyone who loved Planetside 1 more. We still do play it. Its called PSForever. Look it up. We do a birthday event this month as well.

Original Planetside was ridiculously good. Much better than the sequel in my opinion - I never got on with that at all.

I sometimes fire up PSForever and just wander around the empty maps, exploring the empty bases full of nothing but memories and ghosts of the past. Re-living those glory days, in my mind.....sigh. Take me back.

Youd enjoy the 22-24 May event we have coming up. Gets up to 50-100 each day and lots of new faces this year so hopefully more

Can relate, sometimes I’ll fire up Wow to visit the locations from 2004. Places that were once rammed everyday are now vacant save for the odd player.

I left Jumpgate for PlanetSide and played for several years. I used to love the game even though I wasn't that good. I never got on with PlanetSide 2 I didn't like the maps or the gameplay nearly as much. I think the voice comms and trying to play as squads was what really lifted it for me.

The Shuttle.

Galaxy drops etc.

All stuff we still do on the events
I was a regular player with MoX, we specialised in spec ops type stuff (gen drop & holds, resecures, behind enemy lines stuff). Planetside 1 really presented itself well for that type of playstyle.

PS2 killed us off really, just didn't work the same :(

I left Jumpgate as well(still best space game for me!) to play both DAoC and Planetside. I was never great at it, but absolutely loved the game to be fair.

DAoC also emulated some of the PS1 boys play it

DAoC emulated?
Ah maybe! its still there on a main site to play. but I see OpenDAoC is an emu

Even some guy I know has his own Planetside 2 emulator and he is looking for the older versions with the stunning graphics they toned down. Now our PC's could handle it better

good time is PS1 i did tr this some time ago when i had been release but life an otherthings got in the way. it was very playable but with sily things like strtig in mid air then dyig to get to sanctuary. have they fixd that now?
some epic bridge fightingon oshar before the bad time.

PS2 was great at the start but they started adding a lot of tat and messing with balance to much. They nerfed the lighting a crazy amount since it's beta too, used to look very cinematic. The physics as well. E.g. destroyed vehicles used to roll down hills and mow people down and flying debris was dangerous.

PS2 was a LOT more polished though.

I didn't play much of PS1 as I was playing Quake 3 at the time, but I played the sequel religiously from 2012 to 2022, had its flaws but it gave me some of the msot memorable moments in my gaming life. I still load it up now and again and it still blows me away. Miller Vanu for life haha.
