Ferrari Luce EV

When I saw the interior clock I new I'd seen it somewhere before, I think it was in the 80s but here's a current version.

The thing is you can make a car with most of the Luce's design elements, and still make it look like a Ferrari. The main issue seems to be the proportions:

The proportions make it look like a compact crossover thing and quite un-sporty. But actually it's huge and extremely heavy.

The straight lines along the side look quite wrong.

This is what happens when you have a "phone designer" make a car. Apple's own attempt at a car was also a disaster. On a car the size has an influence on how it's lines should be, but they seem to have ignored that.

It’s for the 2 car Ferrari garage, Luce for the commute and to tow the fxx to the track. Horses for courses (pun intended)

I have nothing to add, I just felt that this six billion page long post hadn't been quoted enough to fill up a few more forum pages.

New Prius looks better:

Don't disagree with that....I think the new Prius is the best looking 'normal' road car in recent years.

Although again, it is a 2 door coupe, whereas the Luce manages 4 doors and properly spacious rear seats.

Making it 'more sporty' would seriously compromise the practicality. The Luce at the end of the day is designed to be a daily driver for families with piles of money.

Looks miles better in red too.

Families like that are surely going to buy a Bentley Bentayga or a Rolls Royce Cullinan though.
I think it's aimed squarely at the new money in China.

The Prius is 4 doors.

It has a smaller boot though, yes.

Ferrari could still have made it look more sporty and not sacrificed too much practicality.

Just look at the Taycan Sport Turismo. Infinitely better looking and on a par performance wise with the top spec, yet still practical.

There is really no excuse. It just looks stupid for no reason/because the designer totally ****** it.

What happened when Ferrari first announced an SUV. Outcry, sacrilege.

Now? Minor part of their expanded line up in limited numbers.

Want a special series car? Collect all of these other models and you’ll be considered.

That's no excuse for designing a car that looks like a 5 year old drew it with a crayon.

Taycan's are hideous I'm afraid, the Luce does a much better job imo :P

Because that has worked so well for the similar looking AUDI :D
You misunderstand the appetite for luxury in China, they want the top-end labels for people with real money, not halfway house stuff like Audi. There's little interest in everyday marques generally....they can get good everyday stuff domestically for less, if they want a status symbol they'll do it properly. They'll sell bucketloads.

Are they going to pipe V12 vroom vroom noises into the cabin? Or as well as looking terrible it's also going to be silent.
A silent Ferrari...
