Arc Raiders

I played PVE last night, after not playing for ages. It's not quite as tense as when there are other players but I did manage to annoy some arc and get completely wiped so it's not as easy as you might think. The level of loot seems way lower though.

So much anger from pvp players, on reddit, steam forums, platforms like X, facebook you name it the pvp crowd are crying hard.
All because they are giving us a different way to play.

PVE is gaining traction in so many games.
Look at Arc Raiders, Marathon all adding PVE modes.
Also newer games like Active Matter and Grayzone Warfare, with pve and pvpve modes and Incursion red River with just PVE.
Then take into account , Space Marine 2 , Darktide,Deep Rock Galactic, Helldivers 2 PVE all doing great.
Even Tarkov has more playing PVE mode than the standard pvp mode.
The pvp only guys need to learn PVE is here to stay in many games.
Gotta feel sorry for them. All that money spent on ESP, aimbots, wallhacks etc wasted ;)

I expect a decent number of the loot snatchers are PvP players looking for risk free resources to keep on top of crafting weapons.
I'm glad they are testing PvE out at least, and with some tweaks, might be what some people are looking for. For me, I think I'm happy with PvPvE - I never shoot first so I'm almost always in mostly friendly lobbies. I have been downed I think 6 times since the new expdition, twice by players, the others by ARC, and I'm OK with that.

PVE is an absolute dumpster fire. The amount of griefing going on is ridiculous tbh. Saddos locking people in buildings, ramming them off extractions, etc.

It's also had the side effect of making sure that if you turn it off, the lobbies seem to be much more PVP oriented as everyone thinks it's fair game.

Bring back my carebear lobbies pls :(

people are weird, i can't think why a pvp player would be moaning about pve. unless they enjoy seal clubbing folk primarily pve-ing or they like ratting in care bear lobbies there's literally no impact to the pvp scene.

Anyone else getting the annoying LOD, textures glitching from super low quality to high, and textures disappearing behind you as you run? I though Embark had fixed this, but it seems to be back again, literally destroying the game for me :(

I absolutely loved this game, played solidly for months after release, but I dunno, I hit a wall with it and it was a proper wall.

I might have hopped back to try PVE, but then I started playing Wardogs and I'm loving it and the thought of dividing my time, nahhhhhhhh.

I know it sounds weird, and if you guys are like, what the actual **** are you talking about, then fair comment, but for me they almost took away from the game by adding more stuff.

The core game as it was was great, and yea ok I guess they needed to do something to keep it alive, but they just added a ton more different Arc, it just became annoying for me.

Never say never, I'm sure at some point I'll hop back but Wardogs is where it is at fir me right now.

I honestly think the problem is developers trying to shoehorn everything into one game. I can’t remember when it became so popular to have PvPvE in so many games.

Me and my mates at uni would spend all night playing COD Zombies because we adored how fun that entire PvE element was. Then, because I love PvP, I’d spend the rest of my time in multiplayer.

Thinking back to the division 1, I didn’t have a huge interest in the PvP element of the dark zone so wouldn’t bother with it. That didn’t mean I would have other players interrupt my regular PvE experience, it just wasn’t a thing.

I know games and genres have to evolve but it feels like PvPvE doesn’t have this mass appeal like studios think it will. It just ends up annoying PvP players because an entire audience doesn’t want to fight - and it annoys PvE players because they want to do their quests, challenges etc.

I think I mentioned it during the first few weeks of Arc launching how often I’d be fighting a squad who would just have 400 smokes because they weren’t looking to fight, they just wanted to disappear and gather an item for their next challenge. And if we ever did catch them / loot them they often never took any real items in, just tier 1 weapons and an augment that gave them safe pockets for hatch keys and whatever items they needed to extract with.

Getting pretty tired of this frigate thing tbh. It's far too difficult solo as nobody knows what to do, and there are griefers absolutely everywhere trying to pull other raiders off the little pod things and generally grief each other to try and get a core.

Might just call it for a while, I enjoyed the carebear lobbies but it seems there are now two options: friendly with people constantly griefing each other, PVP KOS or a mixture of the two when trying to complete the frigate.

Or I'll just tool the **** up, camp an extract, massacre everyone and take theirs.

The new skill that lets you "push" other players was a bad move. It's gonna lead to so much griefing.

I gave up on the frigate, for now, and got the part I needed Arc Inductor via a trade on metafroge marketplace. 1st time I've done that to get an item but Frigate is just too difficult at the moment. Hopefully it will die down in a few weeks.

I much prefer the emperor dungeons

I haven't played Arc for a little while, I thought the PvE mode would be a good idea, should have known better. Reading through the comments on Reddit, there seems to be quite a few issues, mostly with those that are looking to spoil the game for those that just want to explore and take the world in. I'm in no rush to return, far to many good games out there, I think I will simply uninstall, work through a few games in my backlog and maybe check back in a few months.

I've given up on it. I've done dozens of runs, looted over a hundred of those containers, lost so many kits and so much equipment in the process. I can either go in fully tooled up, in which case I draw all the aggro and the no-kit players hoover everything up, or I can go in as a no-kit player and run around like mad trying to get something and then die anyway.

This is very much a squad activity I reckon.

OMG!!! After months of this doing my nut in, and me literally stopping playing because of it, I found out what it was... AMD optimised tesselation in the driver. I've played 5-6 games since I turned it off and the problem has completely gone! I don't know if it was me that turned it on, or if it was on by default but I'm so happy it's been fixed!! I can finally just enjoy playing the game.

I seem to have got more FPS too. Double win

I turn all that **** off in the AMD thingy.

More hassle then they are worth.

How is the PVE test? Deciding whether to download it again.
Loots still good but not top end, useful when you need a lot of supplies to rebuild, especially after dying to the very aggravated arc that seem to get you a lot more. I've died more times now in PvE against Arc then I have in PvPvE before all this update.

5 mid guns and a wolfpack in one run I did the other day
