Old, broken and not sure how stable...

My shoulders were fine, which is good!

But I did try a strict barbell press and the click returned; changing grip didn't help, either. :(

I did throw a rugby ball yesterday overarm and I felt something twinge, so I will continue investigating.

BACK SQUAT: 112.5kg for 3, for 4.

My legs are shot to pieces! Tendons at my.knees are aching really badly, so this has convinced me to take a break after this cycle...

I did some internal shoulder rotation stuff and think I have found the nasty pain point, but we shall see.

Penultimate intensity session...

BACK SQUAT: 135kg for 3 reps, for 3 sets

Last set was the best. Yes, that is weird and annoying.

Then some RDLs and leg extensions...

Last intense day before the 1RM test next week...

BACK SQUAT: 142.5kf for 2 reps, for 2 sets

Second set felt better... first was HEAVY.

Should be good for 150kg next week!

Not quite, just taken a break from a serious routine for a bit. I am still squatting as it is pretty much all I can do at the moment (thumb is still bad) but have rolled the intensity back as my leg tendons were absolutely ruined after two rounds of RMSR.

Current lifts: 130kg for 3 reps, for 4 sets
Deadlift: 150kg for 3 reps...

One thing I DID notice from RMSR is my legs got absolutely massive, which is interesting because the rep range is low but very intense...

I will be back, however. And it will be time to get mass-ive.

Two months off logging but not off lifting... have been very busy with stuff outside work and the gym, so it would have been very flakey and inconsistent.

I also needed to not squat heavy as frequently for a while whilst my legs recovered from RMSR - it was simply too hard on my quad tendons whilst not eating huge amounts.

I think RMSR works well for my particular approach to squatting and physiology: some big increases in weight moved (probably some re-discovery gains in there) and my legs became problematically big, but two rounds of it almost made me fall out of love with squatting.

My thumb had an MRI this morning to try and find an answer as to what has happened to it (tendonosis or broken scaphoid) as I still can't press anything without serious discomfort... hopefully I will find out what happened and what I can do to fix it.

I guess I will have to start another log just about legs... I did session 4 of RMSR on Saturday (130*4 for 6 sets) and I had DOMS straight after, yesterday and today. I am hoping tomorrow is less bad...

October hasn’t been very productive so far.

Finally in the new house and whilst there’s a lot I need to sort out, I also need to prioritise time to get out as I’m already getting in my head about it!
