EV general discussion

So what is good efficiency? I'm so used to mpg that I have no idea what miles/kWh is good or bad.
I've averaged 4 miles/kWh in the 1000 miles I've driven the MY since getting it but most of that was motorway at 70mph.

3 is average, 4 is good I'd say

I'd say 4 miles per kWh is absolutely fine on a Model Y.

I am getting about 5 miles per kWh on the Model 3 but it's the RWD version, lighter and sleeker. From new over 15k miles it's averaged 196 Wh/mi, which is normal mixed driving, very impressive.

That's not bad going at all, ill check what mine is since it last reset but I don't think its anywhere near that.

Only had the SQ6 for a few days but averaging around 3.4/3.5 with mostly urban driving but that drops at motorways speeds as it obviously has the aerodynamics of a garden shed.

I'm under no illusions that it's not the most efficient of EVs as it's big and heavy but still a world better than petrol. Teslas do still seem to be the benchmark as not only is the drivetrain very efficient but they're obviously relatively light (compared to most EVs) and aerodynamic.

A6 doing 3.8. Quite mixed driving but it’s a little more aero than the Q

Over the last 15 months and 19k miles my ID3 has averaged 3.8 which is lovely because I did all my initial sums assuming I'd get about 3. In the summer it'll do my 50 mile mixed commute at around 4.5 up to 4.8 if I'm doing a good job.

Quite similar to my iX, which is averaging 3.4 mi/kWh after 32k miles

Summer = 4 to 4.2
Winter = 2.4 to 2.8

My energy rate is 3.8p kWh so it's costing 20% of nothing to run :)

Mines actually not as bad as I thought, if my math is correct over the last 2555miles I am averaging 3.7miles per kWh?

As others have pointed out when previously paying 5p per kWh and even now paying 6.66p its peanuts :)

Average of 2.6 over 16k miles. Have done a lot of motorway trips across the M62, so usually down to around 50mph which probably helps with my average. January i got 2.1 and August i managed the Nirvana of 3.0, think my lowest trip was a 20 miler to swimming and back with the youngster but had plenty of launch control fun and managed 1.6...
