Best City in the UK

What in your opinion is the best city of the UK to live in ?? (Inspired by the Sheffield thread). For example: Shopping, how nice the buildings are, nightlife, how friendly the folk are, entertainment and so on...

Not quite there yet, but its certainly got a lot better since we hosted the commonwealth games, Manchester. Lots of places are now renovated, lots of contrast with modern and heratage architecture, great shopping, great facilities, great nightlife.

I'm into mainstream dance, indy, cheesy dance on the odd occasion, progressive and hard house...

I'd say Manchester it one of the worst nights out in the UK, and the people are awful.

Shopping isn't bad I guess. The Trafford Centre is big enough for me to get in, get what I want and get out without too much hassle.

I'm into House and Trance mainly, and I still think Manchester has good night-life

Socially, Professionally and for an all-round "good feeling", London.

I've travelled around and in my experience everything seems to be focused on London and things get less enthusiastic as you move outward.

Seriously though, having worked there for over 18 months (commuting, I refused to live there

) I had quite a few nights out. The people are so stuck up its unbelievable.

The ones that come out of there that I've met are alright. The ones that go on nights out in the centre all need a good shoeing.

It has the right balance of old and new, large and small, money and little money etc.

Oh and the women and bbbbbbbbaaaaaawwwwwwwww.
