Zalman Reserator 2

Has it got the same pump? i got the original res and the pump has now gone for the second time. Nothing on the warrenty either as i send it off and never had anything back so i sourced the pump myself and bought it (£7 i think).

The funny thing is the specs for the pump they use. Its max opperating temp is 31 degrees c and my pc runs at about 58 after 4 hours of gaming.

I see from the links the website mentions nothing about the 'new pump' so i am quessing they havent fixed the proplems and just spend all the development on 'looks'. ARGH!

apart from the pump i love the original one. nice and quite.

How do people think it would perform, as I quite like it. :)

At the minute I run 1.61v through my CPU which hits 50 odd degrees on full load. The thing is it's being cooled by a large 120mm YS-Tech fan which is over 40db! Add on the 7 case fans to that and my PC is loud!!

Would this Watercooling Kit allow for the same (if not better) overclock but with the advantage of silence? The review over at VR-ZONE compared the kit to the Stock Intel HS+Fan, but obviously I am not running a stock HS+Fan.

The idea of silence is really appealing to me! Save my ears! :D

Hmmm........

Well I took the plunge... and ordered one. Someone has to get one and review it for you lazy people don't they! :p ;)

I'll post a new thread up in this section either tomorrow or the day after with my findings and pics (of course!). :)

Can't wait, this will be my first Watercooling Kit and although probably not "the best" available, the silence will be very very welcome, and it looks quite easy to setup.

;) Thanks

You are using lower power components by looking at your sig so temps should be fine. You can always blow a desk fan at it as well to lower the temps a bit.

would it be worth filling the system with fluidxp or some other non conductive liquid? i havent owned a w/c pc but im tempted by the zalman. im frightened by leaks.

I used to be terrified of the water leaking too. Now that I've just set up my third water cooled rig though, the fear factor is deminishing! ;) Here's the rig I braved the world of custom water cooling with at the weekend:

Potential for leakage everywhere there!

Also my Zalman Reserator 1 is currently sat in a tray "just in case" it develops a leak in the reservoir itself, which it did the first day I set it up (out of the bottom where the plug attached) but thankfully <touch wood> it hasn't done that since in 18 months of 24/7 usage. I'm more concerned about the pump failing and the box overheating and catching fire while I'm out at work.

That pic looks well complicated. :p Couldn't you just turn the PC off when you go to work and turn it on when you get in? :)
