What have you got thats worth a lot? I've recently started collecting the odd game that fetches a bit of money. Mint as new versions of Shenmue 2 (DC), Banjo Tooie and Zelda: Collectors Edition to name a few.

The trend i've noticed is that popular games that came out towards the end of a consoles lifespan seem to fetch the most. This is why i'll be looking to pick up FF12 on PS2 when it arrives and just store it, and maybe the new paper mario. Anyone got any other recommendations as wise investments?

Trying my best to get nights and the 3d controller at the moment but it's proving difficult :p and games like panzer dragoon saga and radiant silvergun are out of my budget at the moment.

hmm, won't backwards compatibility kind of lower the price of supposed rare items?

Edit: I mean more interm of games

i get on quite well with the guys at my local and there is usually some room for 'movement' on the price.

I'll let you know.

Look for old school fully boxed Final Fantasy 7 and 8 for the pc. Bought them when they came out but sold them last year for £50 and £40 respectively (needed the money)

I think ive got nights xmas edition and the 3d controller in my garage, in a box with a load of other old saturn games.

Is that rare?

I'll take it off you if its in good nick, its prob worth about a tenner with the controller, more if boxed. Let me know what other games you have and i might take then too if you are selling, drop me an email in trust :D

Neo geo AES games are the most expensive retro games i have over 60 aes titles and that has put a fair dent in the bank balance.

I recommend you get the Bomberman multitap and the bomberman game for saturn.

it can be had for reasonable price.

There are a lot of things that are already worth high (ish) amounts of money. For example a complete version of Secrets of Mana on the Snes or the first Final Fantasy so if you can find cheap copies of them you will be doing well.

Accessories also rise in price fairly, as other people have said, well so its best to get your hands of them as cheaply as possible. The Snes Scope would be an example of this. (Not the Nes light gun though as there seems to be a lot of them floating around...even I have 2)

I've got a few rare games but purely out of luck.

Vandal Hearts for the PS1
Sam&Max / Day of the Tentacle PC
FFVII PS1
FFVIII PS1

I think Ouendan on DS will be one for the future.

Its quite fun to collect rare games but it can get very expensive.

Are these really rare now? I don't think I know anybody who owned a PS1 who didn't play these.

well i wouldn't say rare but they definitely are desirable, they're regularly hitting £20 or so on the bay.

Not sure if it's worth anything but i've got an old Atari console with Pong & Skeet on it. The games are in-built and you control the games with 'paddles' that have a rotating knob that simply twist left or right.

Maybe you guys know what it might be worth?

Just found this topic via search. I've started to become obsessed with getting rare PS2 games!

Zone of The Enders 2nd Runner costs £50 these days. Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence will set you back at least £60.

My local gamestation had every Shin Megami Tensei a while back but I thought nothing of it, now ofc they are all gone and I wish I bought every single one. Persona 3 and 4 are easy to find, the others are much harder. I bought Digital Devil Saga off ebay yesterday.

On a different note, Suikoden II on PS1 is worth £80 now, angers me because I had it but lent it to someone 5 years ago and never got it back!
