Does anyone know if the roulette machines you have in Ladbrookes and Coral are truly random or select wins based on the amount of money put in or recently paid out?

they are truly random, the built in house edge ( of the game ) means that long term the owner always wins

Nice one. I've been practicing roulette on my xbox. I find if you just bet red/black or odd/even with a bit of good luck and inutition you can 'beat' the house. Just bet small and aim to double your money over 5 spins instead of 1 spin.

if you follow that theory you will be skint very soon

the only way roulette can be beat is wth the impossible scenario of an infinite bankroll and unlimited max bet

So how come on my xbox I'm not losing.

EDIT> I find that wins and losses seem to come in waves. You will make losses but you have to try and get a feel for when the winning wave is starting and bet more on the winning wave then start to bet less on the losing wave. You can't stop betting altogether on the losing wave because then you lose that feel for that flow of things.

BTW this only works when you'r doing even bets like red/black or odd/even not when you'r betting on single numbers.

good streak?

I don't know the xbox game

The house has an edge of 2.7% on single zero games and 5.26% on double zero

the long held myth of bet small, take winnings and double on a loss always fails in the long run due to bankroll and max bet limitations

Roulette is about the worst casino game to play due to the high house edge and mathematically cannot be beaten over an infinite period ( of course luck plays it's part short term )

A few of my friend play it in my local bookies, they put arround a couple of hundred quid in sometimes betting on numbers and combinations of numbers. Somtimes they win more than twice as much as they put in but more often than not loose. Also the machines in my local don't payout money unless its a low amount, they print out a slip that you take to the counter.

the chances of red or black coming up is 48.6% ( single zero ) , ever if the previous 100 spins are red then the chance of the next one being red is still only 48.6%

streaks or winning runs are not inherent in the game they are mearly luck

machines are not the way to go as the odds are even worse than the real thing

didn't know that but then again I'm not daft enough to play them ;) , where does it differ, have they changed the standard 35-1 payouts etc or are they just double zero ?

Called Martin Gale betting wiki, generally a bad idea unless you have an infinite amount of money to play with and there are no limits on the table.

If you want to play online casinos try bonus bagging, that way you reduce your risks. Still not risk free though.

Never really got into poker. I've always liked the simplicity of roulette. I know that mathematicaly the house will always win long term, but like I say I'm pretty good at it on the xbox/Microsoft games. You just have to know when to bet more and when to bet less and when to stop! I had a quick go in my local Coral this morning put £10 and won £5 in a few minutes. Though i'm weary about attempting to use roulette as a source of income can get you in a lot of trouble and debt!

if you seriously believe those 2 statements to be correct then for your own sake stop before you get into a lot of trouble

There is no skill to it though, if there were it wouldn't be random.

Yes that is what I was going to say, with the bonuses you can get from casino sites, you can try to play with that money but the odds are not in your favour. No casino game will have the odds in your favour when you are trying to play the house. The house always wins is not just a cliché.

We need another Poker night Gilly / Rotty, agree?
