I'm having trouble overclocking said card in Vista. I've tried Rivatuner 2.01, Coolbits and ATItool and Powerstrip, but only Powerstrip will read the cards clock frequencies, and it won't let me change them. I'm using Forceware 158.18's.

Rest of system:

Core 2 Duo E6420
Asus P5B
Antec Smartpower 2.0 450w PSU

Cheers for any help.

i have the same card and i cant get anymore out of it on xp even with the zalman aftermarket cooler. soon as i change any of the clocks even slightly it crashes

Anyone? I can provide more info if needed. Anybody experienced trouble overclocking cards in Vista, in general?

Excuse the advice from a first poster, but you should really be using nTune (from the Nvidia site) to overclock with those versions of the drivers and Vista.

I run Vista 32 Ultimate and can overclock my 7900GT without problems using this method.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. Forgot to mention that it's the 64-bit version of the OS, but I'm presuming it won't make a difference?

Rivatuner 2.01 worked for me once I installed ntune...I'm running a 7900GT though....on Vista 64 as well

o rly? :D then how do i tell windows defender to allow rivatuner to work at start up, as its always keen on blocking it everytime which is highly anoying.

Dont like vista with its mum and dad antics.
