Looks like the Gfx Department has finally caught up with the gameplay(players are a definite improvement, better than Fifa but i cant help but feel the stadiums and pitches aren't as good as its rival) and Teamvision if its not a gimmick could be an amazing asset, im a huge pes fan however, Fifa 07 was better overall compared to Pes 6 on the 360. Im really looking forward to this.

I read about this earlier today and it looks very good. Graphics still aren't what they should be in my opinion although at least the players don't have that ghoulish quality that they do in the FIFA titles.

I can't remember the last time Fifa was even close to Pro Evo. Despite the latest version being poor in comparison to previous years, it was still way ahead of Fifa.

GFX look good but i expected better on a next gen console

EDIT - though are they 3D crowds now? Instead of those shoddy 2D sprites!

You shouldn't really ever expect top notch graphics from Pro Evo.

Don't see how it matters anyway, given that most people will play it from a view where you can't make out the detail.

I'd have to agree with regards gameplay but when you factor in everything else the 360 version of pes 6 was not even close to its last gen couterparts and was a seriously poor offering with regards to its content compared to the previous gen versions.

Errmm i think a lot of the atmosphere is lost when the stadiums and crowd are as poor as they have been. Look at 2006 Fifa world cup (not the road to world cup version) i think that captured the essence of world cup fever really well and although gameplay wasnt exactly perfect it did enhance the experience.

Nothing wrong with expecting great graphics. Official kits and glitzy presentation is way beyond Konami it seems but they could still get the graphics better.

All the need to worry about is giving the coding for multiplayer to a western company so that we can get one that not only looks good, but works well. I swear, if it's the same online search as the last one they can **** off cause I won't buy it.

Very true. It felt almost naked compared with the fully clothed PS2/PC versions.

I do agree with that, but the relative poorness of the first next gen Pro Evo still didn't take it below Fifa.

Everything about the way Fifa plays just feels and looks wrong. They motion capture far too much and when the animations are all put together they somehow just don't look at all realistic.

Nothing wrong with expecting it, but Pro Evo has given us no reason whatsoever to expect it over the years, so why start now?

I thought it was fine.

Could have been a lot better, but it got the job done.

The one thing I'm looking forward to more than anything else is playing the next version with the PS pad again.

From the early screen shots the graphics do seem to have improved but these types of images can be missleading. I do think that FIFA still has the edge in terms of graphic realism; however PES wins hands down on gameplay and theres no doubt that I will be getting this whatever improvements end up on the final version. Lets hope they will pull their fingers out and enable goal saves in this as well!

Over the last 2 or so years if your seen one football game you have seen them all as far as the Graphics goes that inc this one going by them shots.

Gameplay now thats a diffrent story :)

Cant wait :D

I play this game religiously every day. Graphics are ok, big improvment from a normal SD TV to a 42" HD TV. Gameplay is fantastic, only minor refinements need improving (offsides, selecting players, goal keepers etc)

Only game I book a day off work for!

Their poor attempt at a football game in PES6 leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

But i've never got to grips with FIFA, don't like what it stands for in a game, and i'm hoping to god this is going to put PES series back on track.

It looks like it.

If you pay good money for a game it's not unreasonable to expect quality in every department in my opinion.

Obviously they prioritise there work into making the game enjoyable playing wise? Which is why everyone buys the game..To play football.

I couldn't care for snazzy menu's and popular music as long as the gameplay is good I'm happy.

I was referring to the graphics actually not 'snazzy menus'. The games have always played better than FIFA but they have even been idle in that department for years, according to many longstanding fans of the series. Personally I think PES 5 and 6 weren't as good as they should have been. I'm hoping PES 2008 manages to actually fix longstanding problems and improve this time around.
