Bargain sleeper/track toy

reminds me of the Orange Reyland metro.
strange the PH ad doesn't mention any suspension upgrades
either way it seems a good price for a track plaything that will upset some onwers of more expensive machinery.

low 14s 1/4 mile that is admirably fast, however that listing has no mention of any chassis upgrades which is worrying, a metro was not designed to do low 14's!

hmmm....what a coinkydink - me and Huzeee have been looking to build one of these out of the many K-series engines and performance parts he has strewn around his garage...then this come up at a damn good price.

I wonder what insurance would be like....

ROFL!

High 5s 0-60 from a metro, that's awesome :D

There was one guy on Rovertech who was trying to put an M series Turbo into a metro. God knows why he gave up with it because he had the engine in... I think there was about 3cm clearance between the radiator and turbo :D

I do like the 1.8 conversions though. Another guy on RT had a red one which looked really smart.

Has potential, however I'd be worried as I recall seeing this on EBay not long back.

Was Previously advertised on ebay, however, the winning bidder had family issues and couldn't afford the vehicle in the end, so we agreed that the insertion and final valuation fees were to be settled and only neutral feedback to be left. Ive lost all confidence in ebay hence why its being advertised elsewhere!

;)

had a couple of tussles with metro's equipped with these engines. they go well to about 80, but not so well after.

Cheep insurance if still registered as a 1.1...........................

I have a couple of 180bhp 1.8 k series in the garage, ones aimed for a triumph herald, and as MrSix said one might be for a metro. Thats after i have finnished the mini, rover, sold the old herald, buy a new one, convert that to k series and get some more cash in the skyrocket. So it wont be too soon :p

you can put a nice big lump in it, and make it go uber fast ... but its still a metro, and that means crap interior, crap comfort, crap toys ....

whats all this sleeper thing all about anyway?

i would rather have a car that people know is fast, then there is no need for this street race chave style driving

maybe its jsut me being an old fart

you mean no insurance as the upgrades are not declared and therefore invalidate your insurance so you effectivly have none!
