HD 2900XT Crossfire rig busts 3DMark record

i guess it needed to be said.... as others use these terms a lot...

ZOMG the x2900's are slain and obliterated !!1one one

(this is a joke btw)

i do feel sorry though for people who would spend so much money just for a score on a website, but alas this is the game we are in

You do realise these people dont buy a lot of their hardware?

Hence why you se ASUS and XFX in capitals in the 3DMark entry titles.

Kinc is from NordicHardware or something like that, they recently held an event where Asus sent pallets of hardware to them - including unreleased stuff such as the Blitz motherboards.

i dont mean the high scorers, i mean the people who just try to get a high score. the average joe if you get me. i wouldnt really buy a piece of hardware (unless i was being sponsored as you said) to get a score.

well im only getting 13000 with 3dmark o6 thats with 2 ,1 gig radeon ddr4 cards and quad core 6600 with 2 gig ocz reaper memory.....so im a long way off the 25000 mark...he.he....come to think of it i dont even no if when i run the 3dmark 06 its testing both cards in crossfire.....

13k for crossfired 2900's seems very low, i would have expected nearer 16k+. Is the quad core at stock or overclocked?

I suppose thats one perk to it but generally i find people that take that kinda stuff seriously pretty sad. They can build a pc thats so unstable that it barely staggers through a dinky e-peen program and all to get those 2 extra points needed for an extra inch on the old e-wang.

I do run 3d mark now and again for the forum chart but at the same time its not like im going out of my way to do it, some people seem addicted to that crap.

But it's a hobby for them, being able to push hardware to the very edge. I find it pointless too because I like my machines to run 24/7 to game and web browse but doesn't mean it's pointless to them.

If they enjoy it, then fair play to it.

There are more ridiculous World Records set by people, such as the amount of paintballs taken to the body.
