With GCSE results coming up on the 23rd of this month I thought I would create a topic to see what people are expecting and then what they actually got.

I am expecting:

English - C (Maybe B)
English Lit - D (Maybe C)
Maths - C (maybe B)
Double Science - C
Business - D
Media - C
P.E - C (probably B)
ICT - E (I dont think many people in the school will pass as its soo bad at my school)

Good luck to all but I dont know about you but I am going to be crapping myself come result day.

Don't be too nervous, just keep telling yourself that GCSE's mean nothing apart from a step to college and you'll feel fine :)

Good luck with your results, I'm expecting my AS results in a few hours as well. I'm expecting very little hopefully a B in business and a B/C in IT. I just hoping for a pass in geography and maths

I need 4 C's or above to get onto this college course I have enrolled for.

They will probably accept you anyway. When you get there you'll realise how actually disorganised/lax they are about it.

I needed 5 C's to get into my college but I know loads of people who didn't get that but managed to get in by just lying :p

That's very true.

They're not as important as they're made out to be. If you're a bright candidate for the course, eager to get into the said college and willing to work hard - more often than not you'll get accepted for the course.

That and the slackness that Zefan mentioned, don't make it the 'result of death' day that it's often made out to be.

Good luck!

I didnt do very well in my GCSE's, all C's and D's. Still got enough to get into college (and do the things im good at). Passed college with highest grades possible. Now in Uni doing the things I wanna do again.
Just dont be too disheartened if you dont do well in them. I remeber going into school to get my results, going home and being despressed that I didnt do that well. But after I got into college nothing was ever said about them again. If you do get all A's then not taking anything away from you, Good on ya! :D

Anyways, Good Luck!

Get mine on the 25th im shatting myself, seeing as i didn't revise and didn't do science coursework and i'm not sure if my ict coursework marks will get fixed due to my teacher loosing my coursework. Anyways i predict i shall get:

English C
Maths D
ICT B
RE B
History C
Science E
Business Studies:A*
French:C
German D
Spanish D

& to think i was predicted all A's 3 years ago. Coincidently that was when i started playing pc games :D

Are you looking to go to a College? We have to get C and above for maths if we're getting into one. I *may* have messed my maths exam up though. :( :o

Only two which really mean anything are English and Mathematics... do fine in those and for interviews they won't bother questioning that area, do "ok" and they'll ask questions, do terrible and urg (I got a C for English and my current employer, for the interview, kept asking me all sorts of questions like why only a C, what would you get now, how have you improved your English since then etc). Either way I'm sure that line of questioning is years away for most of you =)

Good luck anyway to all, I don't remember what my results were, but they were 6 years ago, got me into the sixth form, which got me into University, which got me my job.

Don't panic guys the college admins will do their best to get you in even if you don't match your predicted grades. For stuff like Maths at my college they let you on your desired course but made you retake the Maths subject along side it so don't panic too much about that either.

Good luck to you all. :)
Seems so long ago to me now :p

I hope not, I only got a C in English. I attribute this to the way it's marked; knowing about Shakespeare really shouldn't be important. Being able to write to a high level however, should be.

That's my excuse anyway and I'm sticking to it. :p

As for the OP and anybody else, I wouldn't worry about them too much. I never revised, barely done any course work and came away with fairly respectable grades in my GCSEs. Easily enough to get into the courses I wanted to take at College anyway. If you do completely screw up something important you'll probably be able to retake it alongside your main course at College.

:D :D :D

that’s probably the story of half the people here

i was a A* student at GCSE, an A student at A-levels, then the summer of leaving A-levels i got into EVE-online an MMORPG. First two years of university where 50-60% passes :D , but worked for my last year so pull it back up somewhat

if you don’t get a grade A in the subject you want to study, dont bother with college/university tbh

Right... because it's impossible for someone to improve or even do something because they enjoy it?

Seems a daft thing to say.
