Will 2x 2600XT be able to run a 22inch moniter?

Even tho he did said not to say that :p
I would do whatever you could to get those extra few tenners to save you in the long run.

2x 2600xt runs very well in dx9 and dx10. i know because i own 2... yes i agree it isn't the best like the 2900/8800 but for £140 its worth it.

if u just want dx9 just get a 1950 card. its slower than 2x 2600xt but the 1950 it better with AA

Would a 320 be ok at that res? I may just hold out and see what these 2600PRO/GT cards will bring..

What I would do is get the E4400 instead of the 6300 and also I'd get DS3 variant instead of the DS4. This will save you over £30 and allow you to get the 8800GTS without breaking your budget :)

A little overclocking will get that 4400 right back there in terms of speed and the lack of cache will have negligible impact in real world applications.

Oh, Sorry, I already have those parts, I did have a X1600PRO graphics card which did. But it broke and i wasnt paying £39 to RMA it. I have £430 in total. I want to get a 22inch screen, The cheap WC kit for £89, Some AC5, Rounded IDE cable, and a graphics card to run those..

this is what i had in mind. But i don't know how well the cards would do.

So you recon a 8800GTS 320 would be ok even on the 22inch ?

Not by my friends experiance, go for the 640mb if your going for an 8800. We have similar specs, and his system doesnt perform as well as mine in most games. He wishes he'd gone for the 640...

but he said his only got £150 to spend on a graphic card..

I think i have decided i am going to get a X1950 512mb OCUK version, then buy a nice cooler for it and clock it also, If that works well, Ill get another if not around xmas time i shall get a 8800GTX if prices have come down.

I know its not DX10, but bioshock doesnt really look that much diffrence between DX10/9

anyway your views would be nice.

Thanks phil

Why don't you take a look at in the members market to see if there is a 8800GTS 320mb for sale.

For reference I just sold mine for £150 so it would be roughly in your price range.

A 8800GTS 320mb is also considerably quicker at everything than 2 HD2600XTs. (remembering crossfire doesn't scale well on some games where as in others its excellent)

I think i decided to get a X1950PRO/XT 512mb.. I will keep that till G92 comes out and possible then i can pick up a cheap GTX or whatever.

Thanks all phil
