After spending hours trying to get the bioshock demo to run on vista 64bit and finally getting it running,it now crashes if i try changing the ingame screen resolutions, :(

plus the widescreen resolutions are messed up.... :mad:

Am praying that they have not released the full retail copy with these same widescreen resolution problems...

Sounds like a problem with your system to me, it's gone smoothly for pretty much everyone else.
Do you mean that no one else is had any problems with the widescreen resolutions :confused:

And is this with the demo or retail ??

Ran the demo last night on widescreen 1920 x 1200 , no problem.

My 7800gs+ (7900 core Gainward ) AGP had a whale of a time :D

Max settings 15 fps - Slideshow

Low settings 30 fps - Playable

I had it run once in 1920x1200....But now it just start up at 1024x768 and if i try to change the res to 1920x1200 it just go to a black window..

i've run the demo maxed out in 1680x1050 absolutely fine on a 256mb X1800 XT. very occasionally a bit of slow down but nothing to compain about...unlike Stalker which is v sluggish :rolleyes:

The game runs on widescreen, we get that bit...
What hes talking about is that the games actual widescreen is all wrong, some people here need to look into it rather than posting " runs fine here at < insert widescreen rez here > "

Nope. There has been a tonne of problems with the demo and Vista64. Especially the Steam version from what i have heard (and experienced).

Not using widescreen but had the same problem with trying to change the resolution. Choose resolution, hit apply and game crashes.

In the end I manually edited the Default.ini file located in C:\Program Files\2K Games\BioShock Demo\Builds\Release

About 2/3 of the way down the file there is a section like this -
Code:
[WinDrv.WindowsClient]
WindowedViewportX=1280
WindowedViewportY=1024
FullscreenViewportX=1280
FullscreenViewportY=1024

Try manually entering the resolution & see if it works.

Using Vista x64 & X1800XT.
