Is Bioshock retail as crap as the demo ???

will wait for cryteks input on this. i rekon the cryengine 2 will really show the unreal engine how to do things properly without crippling hardware.

So your honestly telling me you think crysis will run on full settings on, at 1280x1024 on a 7600gs and maintain 30fps at least??!!

Not to seem too disrespectful but I possibly think you need to get your head out of the skies and off the crack pipe too.

exactly where are these reports you mentioned? got direct links?

They're all over the official Bioshock thread.

Oh yeah sorry, I forgot that you you don't actually read those threads, you just spam them with misinformation.

and not posting on this forum for a long time means your not clued up?

You actually are not making any sense at all now, give this a rest please as you're ruining threads daily and it's no good at all.

all i can say is that i believe it will run faster than unreal engine 3 games at the same time looking better. thats all.

iv read those threads, and the general consensus is that bioshock runs better than vegas, but its far from being a perfectly optimised pc game like farcry and half-life 2, and the reason i believe its like that is because its also intended to be on consoles. im just voicing my opinions on what ive seen.

No you're not. You're saying this runs like crap.

If you were trying to say that you would say "Crysis will run better", not "OMG it's just another crappy Vegas style chug fest  "

:Edit: Please note my previous post. It is ruining threads every day now and that's a bit too much really.

Possibly but we wont know until it comes out...you could have just stated that from the beginning instead of bashing Bioshock which has stellar performance across the board.

A 7600GS barely gets 40 fps in Far Cry and such though right?

How can you expect above 30fps from today's games when the card doesn't get that with games a few years old?

true, i shoudl have worded it different. also saying it has stellar performace across the board is wrong unless the board ranges from a 2900 to a 8800

game performance is crap, its another rainbow 6 vegas, and from this i can tell Unreal tournament 3 is also gonna be crap.

however game engine stability seems to be good. no crashes lockups or freezes or bomb outs to desktop in the demo.

What the HELL are you on about?
It runs fine on High on my 6800GS @ 1024, wich means it should fly on modern gfx cards like 8800GTS, this game is one of the few modern games that still like high settings on my old card, the performance is perfectly fine on all hardware configs, completly something else than R6V...

iv said bioshock runs like crap yes BUT on a 7600GS. games like farcry, and half life 2 run wonderfully fine on a 7600gs.

7600GS would run it fine on mediumish-highish settings if you stayed on the lower resolutions.

man you played farcry on a 7600? iv played it on a gf3 ti200 and with settings turned down it still ran very well indeed. bioshock with everything turned down runs very poorly at a rez of 1360x768 on the 7600gs i have.

They're years old.

may be years old but they still look damn good compared to bioshock, the textures really let down bioshock badly, but im guessing thats cuz the xbox 360 does not have a huge amount of memory at its disposal.

So you expect a brand new published game to run as well as old games do on ancient hardware, you have just flawed your theory on being here a long time "clues you up"

You're doing something wrong.

I have a 6800GS, wich is only about 20 % faster than ** card iirc, and for me bioshock runs fine @ high @ 1024x768.

You're doing something wrong then, honestly.

ok runs poorly is an exhaggeration, it runs at a playable framerate with everything turned down bar textures at max but it looks a lot worse than half-life 2 or farcry does. and those 2 games perform faster than bioshock.

Well in all honesty I think its true, people are reporting great figures with 6800gt's, 7600gt's, 7800's,7900's, x1800's, x1900's, 2900's and the 8800's and I think thats quite a wide spectrum of rigs.

Also in the retail version the textures are a lot better, Ive only noticed a few low res ones but most are quite hires.
